Nagios XI

Nagios XI is an enterprise-class application that monitors systems, networks and infrastructure.


It is the improvement of the previous version of Nagios that was used nowadays. It is an
extended interface, config manager, and toolkit that using Nagios-Core as the back-end. Nagios
XI are also maintained by its original author, Ethan Galstad, and Nagios Enterprises. Nagios XI
are using Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) to monitor the hosts and services
based on what it is specified, and alerting on when thing go bad and better.

Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is an agentless method of monitoring


network devices and servers. Thus, Nagios implement it in their system which they have gain
benefit of agentless monitoring, increased in server, services and application availability and
also because its fast detection of network outages and protocol failure. There are many
functions that Nagios XI provide to its users. Firstly, its comprehensive IT infrastructure
monitoring. Nagios XI provides to its user monitoring on all mission-critical infrastructure
components, which is including operating system, network protocols, system metrics,
application, services, and network infrastructure. This will give the detail and alert any faults
that happened to the infrastructure.

Other than that, Nagios also give better performance to its user as with the Nagios Core
4 monitoring engine used, Nagios XI increases the system efficiency which it is allowing to a
greater scalability and maximizing the server resources. Also, with this it can easily monitor any
large infrastructures. Nagios XI also provide visibility which is a central view of the entire IT
operation networks and business processes. It provides powerful dashboards which give a
glance access on the powerful monitoring information and third-party data. It also provides user
with an access to the information they have find most useful.

Awareness also one of what Nagios XI provides. It will send alerts to the one who use
Nagios for example IT staff, business stakeholders and end users via mobile text messages or
email, which providing them with outage detail. By receive the alerts, they can start on
resolving any issues that comes immediately.

An organization also can plan for their infrastructure upgrades just before the outdated

gives the organization an automated, integrated trending and capacity planning graphs. In term

an integrated web-based configuration interface which let the admin to easily control and
managing monitoring configuration, system settings and more to the end users and their team
members. It also provides configuration wizards guide users which is through the process of
monitoring new devices, services and application, which all without have to understand on the
complex monitoring concepts.

Apart from that, through Multi-Tenant Capabilities, multi-user access to the web
interface will allow the stakeholder to view any relevant infrastructure status. Through user-
specific views, it will ensure that the client will be able to see the infrastructure that they are
authorized only. The Advanced user management will simplifies the administration by allowing
