B. COURSE OBJECTIVES
At the end of this course, students are expected to have solid understanding and be able to
apply some linguistic skills and components as folllows:
Listening
Students are able to comprehend and response some linguistic features dealing with asking
questions, .making complaints and appointments, directions and describing place and
having job interviews.
Reading
Students are able to understand the topic, main ideas and supporting ideas of a text,
finding a new information from the text dealing with the topics, and comprehend and read
a post card, jobs and training advertisements.
Speaking
Students are able to recognize and apply several linguistic features and expressions in their
daily life correctly and appropriately.. They are able to communicate in terms of
introducing themselves and other people, talking about present activity, offering and
requesting, describing place, aggreing and disaggreing, making complaints and
appointments, having job interviews.
Writing
Students are able to express in written form appropriately dealing with filling a form,
describing people, place and process, writing adverbs and punctuation correctly, writing a
formal and informal letters, e-mail and CVs applicants.
Grammar
Students are able to understand and apply some grammatical focus both on in spoken or
written forms dealing using appropriate tenses, differentiating between do and be,
differentiating coutable and uncountable nouns, using adverb and adjectives comparation
degree appropriately, and understanding and using the phrasal verbs.
Pronunciation
Students are able to pronounce a word, phrase, sentences appropriately in terms of
syllables identifying, word stressing and intonation, word endings, silent letters and short
forms.
