MAK Group

The foundation for MAK Group was laid in 1982 with the formation of National Wood
Products (NWP) in Kerala. In the year 1992, we became a multi-national entity by exporting
plywood to meet global needs. In 1995, NWP was accredited by the Bureau of Indian
Standards. In 2007, Trojan was launched. Apart from the building material industry, MAK
group also operates in the construction industry. MAK Realty has successfully completed
many commercial and residential projects in Kerala and Karnataka.

Trojan and its brand variants are manufactured by MAK Plywood Industries Pvt. Ltd.. one of south
Indias Leading timber trading and manufacturing houses. Our state of the art facilities in
Coimbatore and Mangalore are the result of our quest for perfection and have also helped us in
gaining the distinctive advantage of being an ISO certified company.

Trojan exemplifies how technology, quality, aesthetics & customer needs blend together to form a
product. This has made Trojan a favourite with many reputed builders and architects. Trojan is
available for various applications, be it for household, office interiors or furniture manufacturing.
Imported Gurjan and home-grown Redgum, which are known for their density, quality and natural
resistance towards termites and borers are the only selected species of hardwood used to make our
plywood. Moreover, as an environmental friendly and eco-responsible organization, MAK plywood
sources wood from tropical plantations, These plantations are renewable sources of raw material
and hence do not damage our sensitive eco system.

Great tensile strength has to be coupled with incredible bonding qualities. For all Trojan products,
we have an in-house resin manufacturing facility that makes the best synthetic resins.

Mak Plywood industries Pvt. Ltd, the maker of the Trojan brand was formerly known as National
Wood Products. Mak Plywood is a certified integrated management systems company with ISO
9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007 (Quality, Environmental and occupational health
and safety management systems) to manufacture and supply veneers, plywood and block board.

ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems

Mak Plywood industries Pvt. Ltd has implemented ISO 9001:2008 and uses it as a management tool
to standardize processes in terms of quality product, customer satisfaction and internal efficiency.
The standard is also a business operating system. Its purpose is to identify best practices within the
organization, which lead to the fulfillment of customer requirements and continual improvement in
business efficiency and customer satisfaction.

ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management Systems

OHSAS 18001:2007 OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY ASSESSMENT SERIES

The aim of OH&S Management system is to identify and control occupational health and safety
(OH&S) risks and improve performance. We established an OH&S management system to eliminate
or minimize risk to employees and other interested parties who may be exposed to OH&S and risks
associated with its activities.

Green Product Certification

Green Product certification is a third party certification of products that are either results of
innovation to reduce consumption or resources including energy or are manufactured through green
technology and eco friendly management systems. The entire concept of green product certification
is based on a voluntary initiative by MAK Plywood industries Pvt. Ltd. We believe in the
manufacturing and supply of eco responsive products in order to save the planet. This certification
authorizes MAK Plywood industries Pvt. Ltd to produce and label products as eco friendly.

Ethical Trading Initiative-ETI

This is a code of good and ethical practice which we adhere to. It means that we are committed to
our employees, their rights and well being with clear guidelines that define work place health and
safety, hours of work, and zero tolerance toward child labour.

CE Marking
In April 2004, it became a legal requirement that all wood based panels for use in construction
comply with requirement of the Construction Products Directive (CPD). Although the mark itself is
not a legal requirement in the UK, the easiest way for the manufacturer to demonstrate compliance
with the CPD is to apply the CE mark to their panels. The route for this is desired in harmonized
standard in EN 13986. To prove the supplier quality of products at national level is as good as the
international EN Standards, requirements are implemented during the process of production and
testing.

The FSC Principles & Criteria (P&C) describe the essential elements or rules of environmentally
appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable forest management.
