SUBJECT : UPDATES ON SECURITY SITUATION

General
Activities during the period were performed as usual. The section continued to provide
security as part of its mandate to ensure the protection of life and property in Bopp.

The current numerical security strength stands as 12 and 76 representing Bopp


and Yutees Security respectively. The section continued to strategically deploy
staff to vantage points even though the security challenges on the ground
especially at the field, over weigh the staff numbers. .

Field Security Operations

The section embarked on general security measures by intensifying patrols on the


boundaries and other theft prone areas. These patrols were successful.

Retrieved Loose fruit and FFB

1. On Friday, July 2, 2010, Security guards on day duty at the Benso Gate
retrieved loose fruits abandoned by suspected criminals. The fruits
weighed 30kgs at the mill.

2. On Saturday July 3, 2010, Patrol guards on night duty at K25 4 TH Fields


retrieved seven (7) bunched of palm fruits hidden in the bush around the
boundary. The fruit weighed 80 kgs at the mill.
3. On Monday, July 5, 2010 four (4) fertilizer bags were retrieved at K20 1ST
FIieds hidden in the bush. The fertiliser was consequently conveyed to the
security office as investigation continues

4. On Wednesday 7, July Robert Damoah reported that three (3) contract


workers were identified as suspects in stealing Wellington boot belonging
to the Edumasi Division. The three suspects were accordingly invited by
police for questioning.

5. On July 5, 2010 at about 1830 hrs two Yutees guards on duty at K2 3RD
Fields were met with fierce battle with a criminal conveying one fertilizer
bag containing loose fruits. As result, the guards sustained multiple
wounds; they were later treated and discharged at the clinic. This was
reported to the safety division. The fruits were retrieved and weighed 50
kgs at the mill.

On Saturday July 11 2010, the suspect was identified at Ahinkrom Village and
was arrested and handed over to the police for further investigation.

FACTORY

Normal activities were carried out during the period with no unusual incident recorded.

RENT

In July 2010, a total amount of One thousand nine hundred and thirty Ghana cedis, forty
nine pesewas (GHC 2,007.50) was assessed as cost of rent to be deducted at source
from residents (Contractors) at the various quarters.
