Thank to Almighty God who has given His bless to the writer for finishing the English
paper assignment. The writer also wish to express his deep and sincere gratitude for those who
have guided in completing this paper.

grammar that can help to improve the skill. I realized this assignment is not perfect. But I hope it

PROCEDURAL TEXT

DEFINITION

Procedural text is a text which is written to show how to do something, such as recipe. It designed to
describe how something is achieved through a sequence of actions or steps. It explains how people
perform different processes in a sequence of steps.

PURPOSE

The text is intended to tell the reader how to do something through steps. Similar to other type of texts,
procedural text also has generic structure.

GENERIC STRUCTURE

The generic structures of procedure text are :

1. Goal/aim ( or title) : The goal of the text gives the writers purpose of explaining what to do in
the text. The goal of the text is the title of the text itself.
2. Materials (not required for all procedural texts) : This part explains what things are required.
It maybe tools, spices or ingredients

3. Steps (the actions that must be taken) : These are the points on the process of doing something
in a sequence order.

LANGUAGE FEATURES

In the Procedure Text, we use :

SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE. And:
Use of imperatives (e.g.: cut, dont mix)

Use of action verbs (e.g.: turn, put, mix)

Use of connectives (e.g. : first, then, finally, )

Use of adverbial phrases (e.g. : for five minutes, 2 centimeters from the top)

How to Create A Twitter Account

Twitter is a famous social media that allows you to share what you feel or what you do to other people.
It allows you to keep in touch with other people ( other twitter users ) in all over the world. Now, you
can be the part of social media users by signing up to make your own twitter account. Here are the
steps.

Steps:

a. Visit the official website twitter page at http://www.twitter.com

b. Register yourself by filling in the form, fill in your name, email and password and click the Sign up
for twitter button.

c. Twitter registration form will appear directly, fill in your data completely and do not forget to
choose your username. Look at this picture given!

d. Click the Create my account for the next stage. And fill in the captcha correctly. Look at this picture!

e. Click the Create my account. Wait until the process is complete, if successful welcome page will
appear.

f. Do the confirmation on your registered email that you fill on twitter and you have successfully
created a twitter account.
