Electrical Informations
Instructions and procedures mentioned in this section are meant to be
carried out by skilled and trained professionals who are authorised to carry
out these operations. Failure to follow these instructions can lead to
equipment damage and even loss of life.

Please note that Harness J17 - Host should be left un-connected inside
the GCU Box. It is not part of standard operation and maintenance
procedure. Its use is reserved for TRIBI internal procedures.

This section explains, in detail, following procedures:

Installation & Commissioning

Maintenance Guidelines
De-installation procedures

Installation & Commissioning

To be carried out by trained and authorised personnel only. Failure to follow

these steps can lead to loss of property and life.

1. Aircon Checklist

a) Check and note Aircon Make from Aircon or ask with technician and mention.

b) Check and note Aircon capacity which is on Aircon body or confirm the same by technician.

c) Aircon Type,
There are 3 types of aircon a) Standard (FC1); b) ACFC (FC2); c) DCFC (FC3)
To check type of aircon. Valid only for 0.9 Tn aircon; all 1.25, 1.5 Tn, 1.75 & 2 Tn aircon are Standard
type only (FC1)
Step 1 Switch off 230 V to all aircons in the shelter if controller remains on and evaporator fan
(inside shelter fan) continues to run for more than 2 minutes then it is a DCFC (FC3) type of aircon.
This has dampers which work on 48 V DC. The evaporator fan (inside shelter fan) is also run from 48
V DC. The compressor and condenser fan (outside fan) are 230 V motors.
Step 2 When 230 V put off aircon controller and evaporator fan (inside shelter fan) became off
now check for damper at the back of the aircon this will be a box which is outside the aircon on its
side. If this box is there then it is ACFC (FC2) type of aircon. This has dampers for free cooling.
Dampers are 230 V. The fans and compressors are also 230 V motors.
Step 3 Aircon controller and evaporator fan (inside shelter fan) are off and there is no box outside the
aircon at the back, then it is Standard (FC1) type of aircon. This has no free cooling option i.e. no
dampers. The fans and compressor are 230 V motors.

GenX+ User Manual Document No.: 741401410062 16 of 60

found mention the same.

f) Check the cut in and cut off temp for both Aircon with site technician and mention it in the report.

g) Check and note current temperature on Aircon controller , Room and Ambient

2. TRIBIGenX+

Check and note GenX+ capacity & Sl. No. on packing box, if not found, check on GCU & GPU and
*
specify.

3. Infra observations

a) Check & note current consumption of both the Aircons by clamp meter in 230V.
1. 3A to 7.0 A for 0.9Tn,
2. 4A to 10A for 1.25Tn
3. 5A to 13A for 1.5Tn &
4. 7A to 17A for 1.75Tn & 2Tn
If values are not in this range then call Tribi Engineer to find out next steps on the I&C process.

inform the same to site technician and Tribi Engineer.

d) Check the shelter for any air leakage due to improper sealing, specify the same

e) Check the controller working status & specify accordingly

f) Check if any alarm indicated on Aircon controller and note the same, If any major alarm like HP/LP, do
not install. Any deviations in the (a.- e) points, the same has to be informed to Tribi Engineer. Proceed
for I&C only after confirmation from Tribi Engineer.

4. Installation & Commissioning check list

a) Check and verify GenX+ packing, any deviation inform to customer representative and Tribi
Engineer, Then check for any physical damage of GenX+ & verify the packing list and ensure all
accessory availability.

b) Mark and fix C channel at relevant position with proper water level, ensure the space between GPU
and GCU should be 150mm, and adjacent to each other, GenX+ should be installed at 2 meter
height from ground level.

c) Install the GCU and GPU on the C channel positioned respectively, pl check for the proper tightening
of the same.

d) Mark and fix the conduit as per relevant routing, which should be parallel to shelter base and vertical
conduit routing should be perpendicular to Shelter base.

e) Locate and install the TRIBI provided MCB & MCB enclosure near the SMPS.

GenX+ User Manual Document No.: 741401410062 17 of 60

f) Fix the door sensor and check its alignment by closing the door and checking for continuity at the
sensor end. In case there is any need to lengthen door sensing wire, then ensure that the
lengthening is done at the sensor end and not on the harness coming from the GCU. Confirmation
with Tribi Engineer needed for same prior to cable lengthening. The door sensor cable should be
covered with a conduit.

g) Route and fix the room temperature sensor, by standing on the battery bank and reaching out as
much as possible to the centre of the shelter ceiling. Make hole in the shelter to take Ambient temp
sensor outside and fix the same above Aircon. In case aircon has condenser air outlet from top, then
install the ambient sensor at the side of the aircon. Ensure the ambient temperature sensor does not
touch the shelter walls by using provided mounting pad.

h) Switch OFF the input supply to the SMPS. Disconnect the Battery from the SMPS. Connect the
DC power cable, Red cable to positive bus bar of SMPS. The MCB Box provided in should be
mounted near the SMPS on the shelter wall. The black cable should be terminated in this box. The
black from the MCB box provided by TRIBI should be terminated at the LVD terminal in the SMPS.

i) Connect the DG sense cable to output of DG MCB at PIU (+ve to Red and ve to Black) with proper
routing, connect Li & Ni from 20 pair cable, tape Lo & No (for testing only).

j) Interface GPU with GCU, i.e, connect communication cable from GCU to GPU, connect DC power
cable from GCU to GPU , DO NOT CONNECT RYB CABLE TO GPU, switch on GenX+ MCB

k) In case the SMPS is outside the shelter, a separate kit with longer wires will be needed. Indus circle
SCM team will source this from Tribi and deliver it to site. The longer cables for input power supply,
DG sense and fire alarm will need to be used. The earlier cables will need to be handed back to the
Indus warehouse.

l) Test Door sensor with closing and opening, check the Ambient and room temperature sensor
rubbing by hand, check the Input DC voltage on display, ensure no fault indication in GPU and GCU
display,
Check EB & DG sensing by switching on Aircon MCB, and do the No load run test GenX+ should
end with Low Power trip. If everything is working fine then proceed for next process, if not intimate to
Tribi Engineer.

m) Switch OFF the AirCon 230V Input MCB. If it is a DCFC AirCon, switch OFF the 48V DC supply
to AirCon. Check space availability for cable entering inside the aircon, if not make manual hole in
the shelter to take the cable outside, and drill the hole in Aircon body to enter harness inside the
Aircon , close air gap with silicon sealant . NOTE : The hole has to be drilled at an angle of 45
Degrees to the wall for preventing water entering inside shelter from hole. The higher side of this
taper should be inside the shelter, while the lower side be at the outer side. The flexible conduit
provided will need to be inserted into this hole to ensure that the wires remain protected from sharp
metal edges.

n) The cables will be routed along the wall to the side of the aircon. The conduit will be clamped to the
back of the shelter wall. The rest of the conduit will hang till the cables entry is done in the aircon.
The cable entry should be at an angle with the lower side being outside the aircon to prevent water
entry into the aircon.

o) Set the FC mode as per the aircon type by editing the FC parameter using the keys in GCU. In case
of specific instructions from Tribi Engineer set the temperature as per requirement.
