SUB-PROFESSIONAL ELIGIBILITY
First Level Eligibility
For Vice-Governors, Vice-Mayors and Regular
Sanggunian Members
Elected for an aggregate period of six years and
have completed at least 72 units in college
PROFESSIONAL ELIGIBILITY
Second Level Eligibility
For Vice-Governors, Vice-Mayors and Regular
Sanggunian Members
Elected for an aggregate period of nine years
and college graduate
COVERED PERIOD
The law grants the eligibility for those elected
after the effectivity of the New Local
Government Code of 1991 or those elected
May 11, 1992 onwards
NOT COVERED BY THE LAW

COMPUTATION
The computation of aggregate years of service
is the ACTUAL number of yers of service in ANY
Sanggunian
FILING PERIOD
(PRESCRIPTIVE PERIOD)

For those who have completed six or nine


years prior to effectivity of the Implementing
Rules and Regulations (IRR) which was on
March 8, 2013: you have five years from the
effectivity of the IRR to file for eligibility at the
CSC
FILING PERIOD
(PRESCRIPTIVE PERIOD)

For those who were incumbent members of the


Sanggunian who have completed six or nine
years service requirement in May 2013: you
have four years from completion of service
requirement within which to file eligibility at the
CSC
FILING PERIOD
(PRESCRIPTIVE PERIOD)

For Sanggunian members elected in May 2013


elections and thereafter: you have two years
upon meeting the required number of years of
service within which to file eligibility at the CSC

Applies to ALL elective positions from Vice President,


Senators, Congressmen, Governors, Vice Governors,
Regular and ex- oficio members of Provincial Board;
Mayors, Vice Mayors, Regular and ex-oficio members
of City and Municipal Councils
SALARY STEP INCREMENT
FOR ELECTED OFFICIALS

Excluded -- President and Barangay Officials

The grant of salary step increment is based on


length of service

One step increment based on length of service


shall be granted to elective officials for every 3
years of service
SALARY STEP INCREMENT

For elective officials with 3-year term:

Step 1 of the authorized salary grade upon assumption to


duty on his first term

Step 2 upon assumption to duty if reelected for a second


term with the same elective position

Step 3 upon assumption to duty if reelected for a third term


with the same elective position

NOTE: An elective official who served an elective position for 3


consecutive terms and reelected to the same position after a break of
his service, shall be granted one (1) step higher ( or step 4 ) from the
salary he last received for the same position

NOTE: An elective official elected to a new elective position shall


receive step 1 of the authorized salary of the new elective post

ADJUSTMENT OF SALARIES:

The salaries of the elective officials with 3-year term shall be adjusted
upon assumption to duty to the succeeding term, if reelected to the
same elective position

Initial adjustment of salaries shall be reckoned from the term of office


beginning July 1, 2010 and onwards. The adjustment of salaries of
elective officials to reflect the step increment shall start not earlier than
Jan. 1, 2016;
