How an individual can develop


1. Personal development plans
It is an action plan for an individual.

Performance
Skills
Career development
Interests

SMART (specific, measurable, agreed, realistic, and time-limited), evaluate, and


review
These overall goals can then be broken down into action plans/ to-do list.

2. Time management
Set goals which are SMART
Action plans/ To-Do list
Prioritize results and tasks-important tasks vs urgent tasks (These are not the
same).
Sequence tasks- urgent tasks firstly then secondly important tasks to be done.

3. Coaching, mentoring and counselling


Coach- experienced employee. Coaching is a way of providing training.
Mentor- long-term relationship. A mentor is like a friend at work, someone who looks after
your interests.
Counsellor- guidance. Known as non-directional counselling.

The aim of all of these is to increase productivity, efficiency, job satisfaction and comfort levels
within the organization.
