Starter - Teacher asks students to look up the sky.
- What can you see?

Main Activities Activating students prior knowledge about the


solar system through questioning:-
- What can you see on the sky? (the sun)
- Where is the sun? (in space)
- Where are we living right now? (earth)
- Where is the earth?

Teacher introduces the topic:- our solar system


- What are in the solar system?
- Students look at the illustration of the
solar system on Unit 9.
- Students count the number of planets in
the solar system.
- Students say aloud the name of each
planet correctly in order.

Teacher draws the solar system and the orbits on


the board.
Teacher gets students to come in front and label
each planet with correct spelling.

Group activity:-
- Teacher distributes A3 paper to every
group.
- In group, students draw the solar system
and label each planet correctly.
Plenary
Revisit the criteria and give thumbs up.

Students to follow-up Remedial Reinforcement Enrichment
