Science of Krishna Consciousness
[SB 1.16.25-30 January 21, 1974, Honolulu]
80 devotees attended the Gaur Bhakta Vrinda camp. We were fortunate to have the association of HH Radhanath
Swami Maharaj in Srimad Bhagavatam and evening Maha Satsang classes. HG Krishnanand Prabhu and
HG Radheshyam Prabhu also gave their association. HH Radhanath Swami Maharaj prepared our consciousness
for Janmastami by beautifully narrating Krishna lila. He defined Humility as acting for the pleasure of Krishna
without ulterior motives. The effect of hearing, chanting does not fructify without proper service attitude. Bhakti
means dancing to the dictation of Krishna. Tolerating difficulties doesnt mean we dont feel but we carry with
integrity in Bhakti in all situations. HG Krishnanand Prabhu elaborately answered the questions posed by various
devotees. He told that one should chant with lips, hear with ears and cry for mercy through the heart. One should
beg for mercy with the same eagerness as one eagerly stands in queue for prasadam. He urged the devotees to
intensify sadhana when they are young and cautioned that once they enter the next ashram, they will not be able
to devote extra time for sadhana. HG Radheshyam Prabhu explained the tattva of each of the personalities in the
Panca Tattva. He told the two qualities in pure devotees that attract Krishna are
a. exclusive desire to love and serve Krishna forgoing the desire for yogic perfection, liberation etc.
b. causeless and unlimited compassion for the suffering souls in the world.

enthusiasm and many other guests also joined. HG Madhav Seva Prabhu explained about importance of
Vyaspuja. Devotees expressed their gratitude to Srila Prabhupada did for them and sought his blessings so that
they can be freed from ignorance and become serious and steady in Krishna consciousness. The celebration
ended with grand feast including kachoris and gulab jamun.
I bow down to the one who walks his talk. I'll clean the space in front of
his house with my own body, I'll become a slave to him. As his slave I'll
stand in front of him with folded hands (waiting for orders; to serve him)
He is Godly to me and I'll worship his lotus feet
Above quality is very much evident in the life of Srila Prabhupada. There is no difference in his actions and his
words.
One time one disciple of Srila Prabhupada asked him What should we do Srila Prabhupada when we are
feeling stressed? Prabhupada replied We should chant Hare Krishna loudly on beads.
After some time Srila Prabhupada got a call regarding Juhu land incidents and the disciple saw Srila Prabhupada
in anxiety. At that time Srila Prabhupada took his beads and started chanting Hare Krishna.
On this very auspicious day I beg for Srila Prabhupadas mercy to follow his instructions. And as Tukaram
Maharaj said, I may be used as a humble servant in the movement of Srila Prabhupada in the mood of Servant of
Servant.
Devotional Farewell
On 12th August, we celebrated the TAPAS SAPAT festival for the seven devotees Ananthsai Prabhu, Naveen
Prabhu, Chiranjeevi Prabhu, Shobanadri Prabhu, Maruti Prabhu, Brijesh Prabhu, Mahesh Prabhu, Banu Prabhu
and Pavan Prabhu. The program started with a wonderful kirtan. Then the devotees were glorified about their
vaishnav qualities and the services they rendered. They also expressed their gratitude and offered advice to the
current inmates. Our EEE HoD Sudareshwaran Sir was also present. He is a great support to VOICE activities
and is also a regular visitor to VOICE. One of the devotees parents also attended this festival. They appreciated
our efforts to follow a pure lifestyle amidst the modern culture where youth doesnt have any proper direction.
Below are the names of the devotees and the qualities they were appreciated for-
Nakul and Arjun group devotees went on a yatra to Vijayawada, Kovvur and Mangalagiri under the guidance
of HG Amal Mahaprabhu Prabhu. Mangalgiri is the place where Lord Nrsimhadev is worshipped by constantly
offering jaggery water. Devotees visited the places where Lord Chaitanya travelled and relished discussing
Krishna katha with Ramananda Raya.
1. Initially my parents became very angry and chastised the devotees with no reason. Despite that Brijesh
Prabhu, Sekhar Prabhu, Rama Chiranjeevi Prabhu, Sobhanadri Prabhu, Mahesh Prabhu dealt with them politely
and maturely that later they developeed nice relationship with devotees. They were also repenting their initial
harsh behavior.
2. One day my health condition became so worse that it became an emergency and the doctors told me that I
have to be shifted to Apollo Hospital. That time Janardhan Prabhu and Rama Chiranjeevi stood besides me, sang
Narsimha Aarti and consoled me.
3. When I was shifted to Apollo Hospital, they demanded an instant deposit of Rs.20,000. Shekar Prabhu readily
paid it despite his own financial problems.
4. I was discharged after 1 month. I was very lean and was feeling very difficult to
walk. I was going to Railway station with my parents. Brijesh Prabhu immediately
searched for a wheelchair in the station and seated me on it. But the wheelchair
had only two wheels. So Brijesh Prabhu carried me like a baby on the wheel chair.
Such selfless service without any ulterior motives can be seen only in devotees. I am
very grateful to all the devotees who have prayed for my recovery and who helped
me a lot to recover.
Academic Achievements: Completed B.Tech (Mech.) from NIT Rourkela with CGPA 9.0
Currently working in TATA Motors, Raipur and visits NITR VOICE on weekends to
inspire inmate devotees and assist in various services.
1. The great acharyas including Srila Prabhupada and spiritual master, through their exemplary lifestyle and
literary contribution, act like the lighthouse for wandering souls like me to give direction and meaning in life.
2. My immediate seniors/authorities and other devotees left no stones unturned in guiding me at every step without
minding the mistakes and inabilities exhibited by me while undergoing the sublime training process.
3. The selfless nature of devotees in spreading the glories of Lord and bringing people closer to Him, keeping aside
all other personal motivations, is something that amazes me every time. It is just because of immense compassion of
the Vaishnavas that, irrespective of all my disqualifications, I am getting all the facilities to practice bhakti which is
so rare and precious in this day and age.
I am immensely grateful to HG Radheshyam Prabhu, HG Jugal Kishore Prabhu, HG Karuna Nimai Prabhu, HG
Anand Murari Prabhu, HG Ravindra Caitanya Prabhu, HG Dasarath Priya Prabhu and other senior devotees by
whose contributions our VOICE has been a flourishing place with so many devotees joining in the mission of Lord
Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and getting the opportunity to practice bhakti so seriously at an early age.
2. What difference VOICE training has brought in your life?
VOICE training provided me with the necessary prerogative to practice Bhakti at an early stage in life which
otherwise would have been wasted in mere mundane activities. The training helped me in becoming more
disciplined and mature in my actions and dealings with people and resources. I now have a well-defined goal
and direction in life and to achieve it, there are devotees whose guidance I can take at every point in my life.
By following a pure and simple lifestyle, I could not only understand the importance of taking to spiritual life
seriously, but also perform equally well in academics and other spheres of life.
3. How to maintain good relationships with inmate devotees in VOICE?
HG Radheshyam Prabhu has been giving us many inputs through his lectures regarding maintaining a good
relationship with inmate devotees in VOICE. If we sincerely follow the guidelines of Prabhuji and other senior
devotees in VOICE, it would be very easy to maintain good relationship with all the devotees. Regularly
reading Srila Prabhupada books in groups with devotees also helps a lot in bridging up the misunderstandings
and reviving our sweet relationship with the dear devotees of Lord. When Krishna is placed at the centre,
everything becomes easy in practicing Krishna Consciousness.
4. What is your message to all VOICE devotees?
VOICE lifestyle is a rare and precious gift that we are getting by the mercy of HG Radheshyam Prabhu and
other devotees. The facilities we are getting to practice Bhakti while we pursue our academics is truly a
blessing in this age. As long as we are in VOICE, we must take full advantage of the opportunities to learn and
get trained sufficiently to keep us empowered enough to continue with the same practice even after passing
out.
BITS of Success
On 5th August we had One Time seminar in BITS Hyderabad by HG Lilananda Prabhu on topic, BITS of
Success. He spoke on a. how ones habits and lifestyle affect ones success b. How to say NO to bad habits

Outreach sets in
We represent our different activities at VIT college through an official college club called Personality
Development Club (P D Club). This year we were successful to get college auditorium to conduct 'One time
program' for first year students. Under the able guidance of HG Rasapati Prabhu and HG Murli Mukund
Prabhu, we conducted total three One time programs - two in auditorium and one in classroom.
Speaker for both the programs in auditorium was Anand Patil Prabhu (Asso. Director, Cognizant) and
speaker for third program was Dinbandhu Chaitanya Prabhu (M.Sc. Int. Maths & Computer, IIT Kharagpur,
currently teaching at VIT college).
We received very good feedback from students, appreciating the speaker and topic-Unleash the Power of
Mind" and the pantomime show "Me & Mind".
I thank all the devotees who helped by doing their best in making this program successful.
Further we are going for DYS sessions for students now. I request all the Vaishnavas to bless us and pray to
Lordship so that we can do our best to please HDG Srila Prabhupada and become a transparent medium to
preach this message of Lord Gauranga.
