Loop Holder for POINT of INSERTION (POI)

MECO @ FIELD PLDT @ FIELD

SIDE SIDE

Every FOC closure has an standard # of cable port hole, Do not

exceed the number of cable stub insertion for this will cause
insect intrusion in the future.
The FIG8 messenger wire for the new sub-feeder cable must be
remove first prior to insertion to new splice or existing closure.
The remove FIG8 messenger wire will become part of the
grounding materials for the said splice.
If no loop holder install from the existing Future Insertion Point,
install New Loop holder, properly fixed with stainless strap or
pole clamp.
Poles under PLDT, Smart, Digitel & other affiliated groups, this
should be install facing road side & on top of FIG8 cable.
For MECO, Electrical Cooperatives, this must be install on field
side & on top of FIG8 cable.
Secure the cable loop with Electrical tape for added strength and
4 Yellow cable tie as PLDT property identifier.
All splicing point / Insertion point MUST be properly ground.

PLDT CONFIDENTIAL 4
FIX CLOSURE & FOC loop

Requires provision of strap &

buckle, base plate for closure
& loop holder for cable.
Remove the FIG8 messenger
wire by slitting the neck of
the cable.
The excess FIG8 messenger
wire will be use as
grounding materials.
Do not install Strand Ground
Clamp since it will be useless
Recommend to provide
CABLE ID TAG for future
reference. 5

MAINTENANCE LOOP (Future Insertion Point)

MECO @ FIELD PLDT @ FIELD

SIDE SIDE

Provide 18-20m loop. This will be place on Sub-feeder

cable side (i.e. in between POI and 1st LCP, Preferably near 1st
LCP on MAIN Road).
NO more loops on succeeding LCPs and NAPs, (Except) to be
use as another insertion point within the Same subdivision
property site i.e. PHASE 1,2,3 , this will eliminate additional
sub-feeder cable (F9/LP1, F10/LP2-F20/LP12) requirements.
Remove the FIG8 Messenger wire prior to fixing. This will
serve as grounding wire installation material.
Install Loop holder, properly fixed with stainless strap or pole
clamp. Secure with Electrical tape for added strength and 4
Yellow cable tie as PLDT property identifier.
Future Insertion Point (POI) should be outside Sub-division
property.
**Future insertion point must be place strategically, allowing other
ODN projects traversing on the same route, to be use as sub-feeder
& place before entering subdivision premise.

PLDT CONFIDENTIAL 6
Install LCP

All LCP MUST be install 1-2

ft. below pole clamp center
bolt or 16-18 feet from the
Ground Level (GL).
Preferably TCA type pole
clamp.
Provide 2 extra buckle and
2 yellow cable tie for fixing
of cable stub (Sintureras).
In excess of 2 ft. Additional
strap & 1 buckle / foot for
fixing purposes MUST be
provide to ensure no cable
stub dangling.

Inside LCP Installation
Organize & fix all buffer by providing 4 or more cable tie.
Provide loose tube or small spiral tube for individual buffer,
patch cord, pig tail, that will traverse / cross to the other side.
For multiple pigtail provide spiral tube for better arrangement

PLDT CONFIDENTIAL 8
FUTURE LOOP

Future Loops are install in-between LCP & NAP and serves as
future LCP/NAP activation.
Future loop should be install in-between 2 NAPs, So put the
future loop near the houses and not on a vacant lot or rice field.
Do not install future loop on the same side of the NAP, you
dont need this loop. Additional splitter will suffice.
Place the loop on the side facing the CO (or Feeder side)
PROVIDE 5m-7m. loop @ the designated location where they
will be install (12-13 diameter or equivalent to 1m/loop).
Remove and cut the messenger wire prior to fixing the loop.
Secure the loop with electrical tape for added strength and 4
Yellow cable tie as PLDT property identifier.
Provide 2 hook with nut, since this will become a NAP later
(OPTIONAL).

PLDT CONFIDENTIAL 9
NAP Installation

All NAPs shall have 2 Hook w/ nut properly place on the left & right
side of the pole clamp parallel to FOC.
Preferably TCA type pole clamp. (Type CA)
All NAPs must be place 1-2 feet from pole clamp or 16-18 feet from
Ground level.
If more than 2 feet provide additional strap & 2 buckle for stub fixing.
INSTALL two (2) bridle rings on both sides and one (1) at the bottom.
PLACE the bottom bridle ring 5 to 6 directly under the drop cable
ports
Always route FOC stub on the side that will create the bigger arc.
Cable Stub must be inserted in between bridle ring and pole.
Yellow cable tie is optional if with PLDT Logo no more yellow tie.
DO NOT route the Figure 8 cable through the bridle ring.
All End of Aerial (EOA) NAPs must be ground.
All boxes should be properly close & lock (ensure the metallic KEY head
is NOT PROTRUDING (NAKA ANGAT YUNG TORNILYO) and safety
key cover are also lock.

PLDT CONFIDENTIAL 10
Inside NAP INSTALLATION
Organize & fix all buffer by providing 4 or more cable tie.
Provide loose tube or small spiral tube for individual buffer,
patch cord, pig tail, that will traverse / cross to the other side.
For multiple pigtail provide spiral tube for better arrangement
