Green Matters
Join others concerned
about the environment in
Delaware in this 5-week
forum organized by the
Unitarian Universalist
Fellowship of Newark.
Speakers will include
Governor Jack Markell
and DNREC Secretary
Collin O’Mara. Topics include environmental policy, spirituality and the environment,
green jobs, green buildings and climate change.

Newark Considers Cool Cities
At the request of Newark’s Mayor Vance Funk, the Newark Conservation Advisory
Commission evaluated the Cool Cities program on January 12 and recommended that
Newark adopt the program. Newark’s City Council may vote on the U.S. Mayors
Climate Protection Agreement soon. Newark residents are asked to encourage
their Mayor and City Councilmen to endorse the U.S. Mayors Climate Protection
Agreement. Contact information is available on the Newark website at

Volunteer Opportunities
Cool Cities Delaware has volunteer opportunities available for concerned citizens of
all abilities and skills. If you are interested in getting involved in local energy
sustainability, environmental stewardship and climate protection policies and
programs, we invite you to join our effort. Activities include writing letters/calling
elected officials and local governments, meeting with Mayors and City Managers,
research and materials development, fundraising and booth displays at events. Join
