A day with Schizophrenia

Have you ever imagined that you wake up and you start listening noises, some voices
whispering your ear or feeling that something is beside you. This kind of illness have
historical records about before 19th century with detailed cases in 1797 by James Tilly
Matthews and Philipp Pinel and so longer time ago called as splitting of the mind or
dysfunction between personality, thing memory and perception.

If you suffer one of his symptoms you can get medical conclusions and be sure of
everything would be okay or men that you have a mental illness called Schizophrenia.

Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that affects the thoughts of a person; for example,
imagine a person that have this illness; he sometimes doesnt know whats happened in the
reality, and whats happened around him, this its called hallucination or delusion.
Generally, this severe disease produces problems in the social life.

Schizophrenia is most often diagnosed by a mental health professional, such as a

psychologist or psychiatrist and it could be caused as a mental health problem, the use or
abuse of substances such as alcohol, cocaine and other type of drugs causes this mental
disorder.

This illness has three categories that are:

Positive symptoms.- Obviously, you dont think that this illness has positive symptoms,
but when we are talking about positive, we refer to psychotic behaviors like:
Hallucinations, Delusions or agitated body movements.

Negative symptoms. - Its refers with disorders to normal emotions. These negative
symptoms are: flat affect, difficulty beginning activities and reduced speaking.

Cognitive symptoms. - This kind of symptoms sometimes is subtle, but, some patients
suffer severe changes in their memory, like: trouble focusing or problems with working
memory.
The ages that present this condition between of 16 and 30, nevertheless, males tend to show
these symptoms at a younger age than females. In some cases, this mental disorder begins
to evolve so slowly, and the people that have this, cant know that have it for many years,
Do you imagine live a normal life and suddenly you find out you have this?

But dont worry, if you think that you would have this, scientists said that depends of the
individuals environment to develop. The factors that permit the evolution of this illness
are: malnutrition before birth and the most important that is Psychosocial factors; it means
the different conditions that you are living in a social situation or in a work.

In conclusion, the schizophrenia is a mental disorder that change the way that you perceive
the reality around you, also the emotions that you feel could change only in a second, but
this disorder depends of many facts, like the environment to develop, its important to take
care about your nutrition. Finally, remember that a schizophrenic person needs all the love
and respect that you could gave to them to improve their live style, only with your support
many lives could change
