We Are Called Jesus contributed to the development of other people in special
ways. He:
developed their understanding of God [Mark 10:1722]
restored people to health by curing them [Luke 18:3543]
helped people to find lasting happiness by teaching them to
seek God before everything else [Matthew 6:33].

to draw every human being into a new and closer relationship

YEAR SIX Celebrate Jesus as Jesus is the Son of God (recall two stories)
Lord the angel told Mary that Jesus is the Son of God [Luke 1:35]

to preach, reassured that Christ was with him [Acts 9:3243]

Stirred Through Jesus experienced emotions. However, Jesus chose
Emotion to do what was truly good for other people. For example,
he chose always what was good for others when:

Deborah
After Joshua, God appointed other leaders for Israel called
Judges. A significant Judge was Deborah.
Through her:
God freed Israel from the people of Canaan [Judges 4:116, 23-
24].
Samson
Samson is perhaps the most famous of the Judges.
Samson:
was promised by an angel to his mother to serve as a man of
God [Judges 13:125]
had great strength from God, and so:
killed a lion with his bare hands [Judges 14:56]
set fire to the crops of the Philistines [Judges 15:45]
conquered the Philistines, who attacked Israelites, using just the
jaw-bone of a donkey
[Judges 15:920]
grew proud and was betrayed by Delilah [Judges 16:422]
destroyed the assembly of Philistines [Judges 16:2331].
Saul
Saul, recognised by Samuel as the one chosen by God to be king:
was consecrated by Samuel and appointed by the tribe kings of
Israel around 1030 BC [1 Samuel 9:26-10:1]
