About Kayoma
Xfactory.in an E-commerce platform is a brand of Kayoma Group which connects
suppliers and buyers. It is the largest sales promoters for different brands of cement
in India. It can offer long-term supply contracts on project-to-project basis. It informs
market realities regarding demand and supply, statutory changes, logistical problems
expected and ways of cutting costs. Currently it is expanding its products in
construction industry.

Kayoma group is the largest sales promoters for the best brands of cement in India,
with sales volume close to 1 Million Tons per annum and 300+ Cr GSV. It has pan India
operations with vast clientele of infrastructure, contracting and development
companies. Kayoma Group assures uninterrupted supplies, competitive pricing and
unparalleled customer service.

Recently Kayoma group has started xfactory.in website to promote its construction
and industrial materials. The company has well known reputation in the sales of
cement. Now, the company is trying to expand their market by introducing
construction and industrial products in its website through xfactory.in.

Scope/Nature of work
The scope of the project includes research on E-Commerce platform about
construction materials. The work in Xfactory.in basically includes enhancement of the
website and better presentation of the construction materials.

Introduced 25 categories of construction and industrial materials in xfactory.in


website. Suggestions for better presentation of these categories in xfactory.in website
is required. Preparation and validation of product list and finalization of L1, L2 and
L3(Level 1, Level 2, Level 3) of the categories.

Preparation of specifications for all the categories and its comparison with various
websites (competition website/category stores). RFQ (Request for Quote) form is
prepared for the categories and validation of RFQ form is done from end users.

Improvement in the user experience and user interface for the Xfactory website.
Suggestions for necessary variants required for the categories. Search Engine
Optimisation(SEO) for the categories in xfactory.in website.

Week 1 Assigned Tasks
Introduction to the companys structure which has recently entered an E-Commerce
platform. Initially Kayoma group is the largest sales promoter for different brands of
cement, now they are extending their market to different other categories in the fields
of construction and industrial sectors. For this, they have chosen xfactory.in website
to introduce their products in the market.

A list of 20 categories are divided among all the interns and research on given
categories of products assigned is done accordingly. The table below shows the list of

websites/competition websites/category stores. The products assigned are Steel,
Fasteners and Electricals.

An analysis is done and collected information about all the assigned categories from
different other E-Commerce websites and prepared an excel report on these
categories. Different specifications for all the categories is prepared and suggested
better variants for the categories.

The figures below show the sample of excel reports on Steel, Fasteners and Electricals.
The excel report consists of various specifications of the categories which are required
by an E-Commerce website.

Week 2 and Week 3 Assigned Tasks
After completion of brief analysis of the assigned categories, the next task is to
prepare the RFQ (Request for Quote) form for the assigned categories. RFQ form is
mainly used to invite the suppliers into a bidding process. This process is done to bid
on specific products or services.

After the preparation of RFQ form, it is also validated. The validation of the RFQ is
done by sample ordering of the products. For this validation process, a sample product
from a category is ordered from different online websites. By this way, it is easy to get
the exact requirements for all the categories and the validated RFQ form is prepared
for every category. The tables below show the sample of validated products of
assigned categories.

After the completion of RFQ form validation, the next task is to improve the user
experience and user interface of the website. For this task, all other E-Commerce
websites are compared with the xfactory.in website.

Steel category in xfactory.in website is shown in figure below. While comparing this
with the other websites, the changes required are as follows.

Provide better variants.


Remove unnecessary repeated images.
Provide required filters for easy checkout.

The above figure shows the better and easy way of ordering TMT Steel bars. The
required TMT bars can be selected from the list of diameters with required quantity
in Metric Tons. Also, the required grade, length and preferred brands can be selected
easily. Steel bars requires binding wires for tying, so this feature of providing binding
wire along with TMT steel is a better way.

provide necessary filters to select the required product. It becomes difficult for the
customer to select the required product and it takes time to order the required

It becomes easy for the customer to choose the required product from the
available list and saves his/her time to order the products with required
specifications.
Providing an appropriate picture of the product gives the web page a better
look.

Week 7 Assigned Tasks
The xfactory.in company organised a site visit to a nearby Villa Construction Project.
The project is undertaken by Ramky Discovery City Project. For this villa project
construction, xfactory.in company supplies major part of cement. The details of the
site visit are as follows.

Project Title: Gardenia Grove Villas.


Location: Srisailam Highway, Tukkuguda, Hyderabad, Telengana.
Type of Project: Villa Construction
Area: 600 Acres
Time Frame: 4 Years
Date of Commencement: 5th April 2014
The Figure below shows the layout of the Gardenia Grove Villas. It consists of 224 villas
in this project.

The villa construction consists of 3 types, which include A-Type, B-Type and C-Type.
Each type of construction has east and west facing. The floor plans of the villas with
different types are as follows.

A-Type(East-facing): This type of villa with east facing has 3 BHK with a total
built-up area of 1916.69 sq.ft, with ground floor, first floor and terrace floor area of
893.57 sq.ft, 885.88 sq.ft and 137.24 sq.ft respectively.

A-Type(West-facing): This type of villa with east facing has 3 BHK with a total
built-up area of 1921.80 sq.ft, with ground floor, first floor and terrace floor area of
904.88 sq.ft, 879.69 sq.ft and 137.24 sq.ft respectively.

Week 8 Assigned Tasks
In this week, a new task is assigned, i.e., to develop SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
It is the process which affects the visibility of the web page in a web search engine
results. Search Engine Optimization is done by enhancing the search options or search
results of the categories in the website. This process is done by preparing a list of
keywords for all the categories in the website in an excel sheet. The table below shows
a sample of SEO for Steel category. Likewise, SEO for remaining categories is done and
prepared an excel sheet of the keywords on all the categories.
