0 EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE
Figure 6.1: Opening the flow meter to ensure the flow of gas from the tank.
7) 2T trigger mode was chosen for this experiment as much more suitable for first-timer use.
8) The semi auto mode function was then chosen as it was more reliable as it makes that when
the welding torch was pressed, then only the wire came out from the nozzle.
9) The wire feed speed was then selected to 4 m/min.
10) The thin plate that was provided was then placed on the work space that have been
provided.
11) After wearing safety helmet and gloves, using the welding torch, welding of the sheet
metal was done.
12) The hand position before welding was done were ensure in the position of between 60-70
degrees from vertical position to ensure the welding done were perfect.
13) Several straight weld beads were done on the sheet metal using the welding torch.
14) The sheet metal was then brushed using the brush that have been provided to clean the
sheet metal of any unnecessary chipped metal that stay on the sheet metal.
15) Steel-grip tomahawk was then used to clean the slags that stuck on the sheet metal.

16) After the work was done, the power source was turned off first.
17) The gas regulator was then closed by rotating the valve clockwise (CW).
18) The welding torch was pressed repeatedly to ensure there are no more excess gas inside
the flow meter.

the flow meter.
