Eric : Rick swept the board during the student election!

Dave : Really? Not Justin? I thought he would win.

Eric : No, Rick did. I think Rick won the election because of the students vote of

confidence. Besides, people from many walks of life in the school promoted

the campaign for him.

Dave : Wow! He must be a very skilled leader.

Eric : You can say that. He had a perfect speech at the election. He never seemed to

be weak at the knees.

Dave : He must have been confident then.

Eric : I agree. I believe he may very well lead our school in the right direction.

Example Passage

Rick is a student who ran for the college election at the school. He swept the board

and was assigned as the president of the college student committee. He won the

election because of the vote of confidence he got from his schoolmates, who

believed in him. People from many walks of life in their school promoted the

campaign for him. When the name of the winner was announced, he was asked to

give a speech. He never felt weak at the knees because he was confident. Amazed

by his attitude filled with confidence, everyone believed that he may very well be the

right person for the job.
