Imperial Flange and Fitting's Multistage Orifice Assemblies consist of several orifice plates
installed in the same pipe. This allows the pressure to gradually be reduced to the desired
pressure. Compared to a single orifice, a multistage assembly reduces the pressure in
smaller increments which reduces cavitation and noise. A typical application would be to
reduce the pressure from 2500 psi down to atmospheric pressure. The assembly could
consist of five stages (orifices) each causing a 500 psi pressure drop. Imperial Flange will
manufacture custom assemblies to meet your needs.
