exchangers, other static equipment, and rotating machines, which may be included in the Matindok gas
development Project

1.2 Related Engineering Specifications

The related Engineering Specifications to supplement this specification are as follows:

- INSTALLATION OF VESSELS & HEAT EXCHANGERS

- TRAY ASSEMBLING WORK
- INSTALLATION OF PUMPS & BLOWERS
- INSTALLATION OF COMPRESSORS AND TURBINES

1.3 Manufacturers Installation Manual

For equipment where installation manuals are provided by the manufacturer and approved by Wika Thecnip,
inspection and test shall be carried out in accordance with the manufacturers installation manuals.

2. TREATMENT OF FOUNDATION AND ANCHOR BOLTS

2.1 Preparation of Foundation

2.1.1 Center line marking and level marking of foundation or structural steel shall be checked prior to
commencement of works.

2.1.2 Major dimensions and position of anchor bolts or anchor pockets shall be checked. Center and alignment
of anchor bolts shall be within the following tolerance:

Level 3
mm Position
3 mm

2.1.3 Treatment for the surface of the foundation, such as chipping and fitting, shall be carried out in consideration
of following points:-

(1) Remove foreign materials, especially oil and rust.

(2) Chip the surface to remove laitance, to give good adhesion and to avoid cracking, peeling off, etc.,
of grouting mortar.

2.1.4 When the equipment is installed on structural steel, the contact surface of structural steel to equipment base
plate shall be checked and confirmed free from foreign materials. If it fouls on welded joint of structural
steel, welding reinforcement shall be ground off flush.

2.1.5 Winding pipes, when those are used for anchor pocket, shall be cut off prior to works. Templates shall
be removed. Cutting slag shall be removed completely.

3. PREPARATION FOR INSTALLATION

3.1.1 In general, liners to be used shall be made of carbon steel, and shim plates to be used shall be made of
austenitic stainless steel or brass plates. However, shim plates made of brass plate shall not be used for
ammonia or acid service equipment, unit, or area.

3.1.2 Dimensions of liners shall be as per Table 3.1.2.

Table
3.1.2

Thickness of Liner Minimum 9 mm

Width of Liner Minimum 50 mm
Length of Liner 20 to 40 mm longer than the width of
base plate of equipment
Gradient of Wedge Liner 1/30 - 1/40

3.1.3 Liners shall be so arranged that the load of the equipment is uniformly and exactly distributed to the
foundation. Liners shall be placed as near as possible to and both sides of, each anchor bolt.

3.1.4 The allowable stress on liner contact area on concrete shall be 40 kgf/cm2 {390 N/cm2}. Calculation of the
load shall be by the following formula;

a = W
NLB

where,

a : Stress
(kgf/cm2){N/cm2} N :
Number of liner
L : Length of liner
(cm) B : Width of
liner (cm)
W : Erection load of equipment (kgf){N}

3.1.5 When placing of liners both sides of anchor bolts is not possible due to limited space between anchor
bolts, a liner shall be placed at the center of neighboring anchor bolts.

3.1.6 Distance between liners shall be a maximum of 800 mm for static equipment, and a maximum of 500 mm
for rotating equipment.

3.1.7 In cases where only flat liners are used for alignment, no more than a maximum of 5 pieces shall be used in
any one stack.

3.1.8 Shim plates placed on flat liners for alignment of very small adjustment shall be less than 1 mm thickness of
one shim plate.

3.1.9 Where the liners are used in multi-layers, they shall be tack welded to each other after completion of alignment
of the equipment.

3.1.10 Surface of straight liners need no machining. Gradient surface of wedge liners shall be finished smoothly
by machining. All the corners of liner shall be rounded.

3.1.11 Wedge liners shall be set as per Fig. 3.1.11.

3.1.12 When the equipment is installed on structural steel, elevation of top surface of structural steel shall be
adjusted using liners or shim plates, if required.

3.1.13 In the case of anchor pocket type foundation, temporary liners shall be placed near to anchor pockets. After
grouting of anchor pockets and curing, permanent liners shall be placed as near as possible to anchor bolts,
and temporary liners shall be removed.

3.1.14 Materials of liners shall be JIS G 3101 SS400, ASTM A36, unless otherwise specified.

3.2 Mortar Pad

3.2.1 Mortar pad may be applied in accordance with Table 4.2.1.

3.2.2 Dimension of mortar pad shall be as per Fig. 3.2.2.

4. GENERAL REQUIREMENT FOR INSTALLATION

4.1 Installation

4.1.1 Oil and other foreign matter on the surfaces of legs, bed, frame, etc., which would come in contact with grouting
mortar, shall be entirely removed.

4.1.2 Alignment shall be performed in accordance with the tolerance shown in the related Engineering Specifications.

4.1.3 Welding of weld-up type washers of anchor bolts shall be allowed only after the completion of alignment and
final tightening of anchor bolts.

4.1.4 Thread of anchor bolts shall be coated with grease to prevent galling of the thread before installation of
equipment.

4.1.5 After the installation, temporary attachments provided by manufacturer shall be removed. Lifting lugs and
tailing lugs shall be cut-off, when so requested in the drawings. For stainless steel equipment, proper protection
on equipment body shall be provided before cutting off lugs.

4.1.6 Welding work for pressure parts shall be performed by welders qualified in accordance with the related
specifications, codes and standard. Welding work for non-pressure parts including structural welding, welding
for washers, etc. shall be performed by welders qualified by Toyo.

4.2 Grouting

4.2.1 Before grouting, anchor bolts shall be cleaned from oil, where in contact with grout, and also anchor pockets
shall be cleaned from water and foreign materials.

4.2.2 For foundation of vertical equipments having skirt at bottom, adequate numbers of drain pipes shall be provided
inside of grouting.

4.2.3 Before grouting, chipping and cleaning of foundation surface shall be confirmed. Water shall be sprayed onto
concrete, soaking for 20 to 30 minutes before grouting.

4.2.4 The grouting mortar shall be poured into the gap between equipment and foundation as referred in Table 4.2.1.
Grout mortar shall be poured not to form any air pocket. Vent tubes shall be provided to prevent air pocket
forming, when required.

4.2.5 Mixing ratio of grouting mortar shall be as specified in Table 4.2.2 Standards of Mixing Ratio of Mortar.

4.2.6 For open frame-type skid equipment, grouting mortar shall be poured upto the top level of the skid to prevent
rain water from accumulating in the skid.
