Describe available technologies and learning environment:

a) How the classroom is physically arranged? How technologies in the classroom are
arranged in relation to student and teacher desks? You may describe it or attach a
scanned drawing or digital picture.

Six tables, four chairs at each table, teachers desk at the back. Small table/desk at the front
with dock cam, projector and screen.

b) How do you think the physical arrangement of the classroom affect student learning
with available technologies? Explain why.

1
Students are able to clearly see the projector screen and receive input from
technology and the teacher.

c) What technologies available in the classroom or elsewhere in the school assist

students with special/diverse needs?

Not observed.

d) What other technologies are available in the school outside the classroom? For
example, 3D printers, Maker Station, robots, computer labs, laptop carts, resources
for teachers to check out from the media center or library, etc.

CDs, movies, videos, DVD players, etc. are able to be checked out from the library

e) Describe one specific technology (software or hardware) that you have seen at this
placement and want to use in your own classroom in the future.

I really like using the doc cam so that students can see me completing a worksheet and are
able to follow along on their own worksheet.

Observe your cooperating teacher and answer the following questions: How does
your cooperating teacher(s) use technologies in the classroom? Do you think your
cooperating teacher(s) use technologies in the classroom effectively? Explain why. Please
be specific and use examples.

Mr. DiVita uses the doc cam and projector frequently. He tends to avoid using the students
iPads because they quickly lead to distraction. I think technologies are used effectively
since the classes are primarily speaking and interpersonal communication. Questions are
printed on paper or displayed on the white board so that students can refer back to them
frequently.

Based on your observation and reflection, what suggestions do you have for further
increase the effective use of technology in the classroom and school? Please be specific
and use examples.

2
I think more visual supports would be good. Using the whiteboard for fill in the blank and
vocabulary learning would be good. Kahoot could be used on the iPads for review and fun
competition.
