pertinent clinical findings, etc..)

Surgeon
Operation Surgeon will do the operation and
extract the fresh specimen
BCI Personnel will received the fresh
specimen and will deliver it
BCI Personnel Transport to Anatomic Pathology
Department of Anatomic Pathology
with a receiving logbook
Receptionist receives the specimen
and provides a routine
Receptionist Receiving and Charging histopathology accession number
(Pathology) and a different tissue bank
identification number and charges
accordingly.
Pathologist receives the fresh
specimen and performs gross
Pathologist inspection and harvesting and
(Consultant/Resident) storing of appropriate tissues

Processing for Tissue Banking
Two (2) normal and two (2)
lesional site will be retrieved
from the fresh specimen
This will be wrapped in foil and
placed in cassettes and
labeled with an accession
number (e.g. _________)
This will then be placed in an
ultrafreezer unit indefinitely
until there is such time that is
to be used for whatever
purpose
