ple are strange, God is good". All of those things are true,
and I'm glad to know that there is a reward to look for-
ward to at the end of this hard life, which is a race over-
seen by a good God and run in the company of strange
people.
This reward is mentioned in James 1:12, “Blessed is a
man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been ap-
proved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has
promised to those who love Him” (NASB).
A literal translation would be 'the crown which is life', and
it refers to the wreath given to the winner of a race. That
is what those who love God have to look forward to at the
end of this race full of trials: eternal life with God. There is
no better prize.
