1. BACKGROUND:
The continuous development of new aircraft models at Airbus has generated a number of different
ADIRU Part Numbers.
The increase number of ADIRU versions is driven by the different Air Data coefficients stored in
the ADR memory which are specific to each aircraft and engine model. They are used to calculate
the Static Source Error Correction (SSEC), from which most of the Air Data parameters are
derived.
This SIL is issued to show the allowed mixability configurations, depending on:
2. REASON:
This SIL details every ADIRU combination allowed on the Single Aisle (SA) and Long Range
(LR) aircraft family.
This revision includes slight corrections in ADIRU charts.
Note: This SIL will be updated on a regular basis to include new ADIRU versions.
3. DESCRIPTION:
4. RECOMMENDATIONS:
In order to simplify the management of several ADIRU versions on a single or mixed Airbus fleet,
Airbus recommends that the operators review with their ADIRU supplier how to convert their
ADIRU inventory to a single standard.
Airlines may choose the most convenient ADIRU standard with respect to their fleet and flight
operations.
Please refer to the following Vendor Service Bulletin (VSB) for upgrade to the desired option:
Airbus SB A340-34-5002 installs ADIRU 0313, mod 47589 (applicable on A340-600 only).
B. HONEYWELL:
Please refer to the following Vendor Service Bulletins (VSB) and Technical News Letters (TNL)
for upgrade to the desired options:
- Neither Vendor SB, nor Airbus SB exists to install ADIRU AD12, mod 47552 (applicable on
A340-500/600 only).
6. PUBLICATION AFFECTED:
Note: On aircraft, at least 2 ADIRU must have the same software version "xx" (HG2030ACxx, ADxx or AExx)
(1) GPS PRIMARY (C1): A330/A340 post MOD 44339/SB A330-34-3041 or SB A340-34-4044
(2) Due to different Mag Var tables and according to TR FCOM and TR AFM, operational limitations are applied on listed airports from 2005 (refer to OIT 999.0032/06/BB dated 24 March 2006)
(3) Mixability is allowed if the auto alignment on GPS (mod 51411) is not activated
(4) Mixability is allowed if the Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver installed is a Honeywell GPSSU, else only one ADIRU PN HG2030AE22 can be replaced
(5) If the (GPS) receiver installed is a Multi-Mode Receiver (MMR) COLLINS GLU-920 (PN 822-1152-120, 822-1152-121 or 822-1152-130), only one ADIRU PN HG2030AE22
