October 15, 1966
On October 15, 1966, an establishment
formed by congress was signed called
Department Of Transportation. It later
began operation on April 1, 1967. This
affected the U.S because we are able to
go to places around the world or even
locally faster.
April 4, 1967
On April 4, 1967, Martin Luther King Jr. condemns the
vietnam war during a religious service in New York. By him
doing that, it let people know the dangerous position these
people were put into.
April 11, 1968
On April 11, 1967, president Johnson
signed into law the Fair Housing Act.
This act basically says that no matter
the race, religion or national origin,
there should not be any force, harm,
threat or interfere with anyone. This
has affected us because certain people
werent able to get the house they
have been looking for.
July 20, 1969
On July 20,1969, Neil Armstrong is one
of the first person to walk on the moon.
This was important because it helped us
know what the moon is made of and
what it contains. They put a satellite to
be able to get a long distance
communication from earth.
June 22, 1970
On June 22, 1970, president Nixon lowered
the age of voting rights from 21 to 18. It
affected our community because now we
get more votes and we have more student
like views.
February 18, 1972
On February 18, 1972, The People of the State of
California was a case in the state of California
outlawed the use of the death penalty. This
affected the community because the court put in
consideration that people who commit a crime,
murder, should be put to life imprisonment.
April 5, 1973
On April 5th, 1973, NASA launched Pioneer 11 on a
mission to study the solar system. It was sent to get a
more better exploration of Jupiter and Saturn. This
affected our community because we gathered more
information of the outer heliosphere.
December 4, 1974
On December 4th, 1974, Pioneer 11 discovered the Great Red Spot
on Jupiter. This affected our community because it made us see how
jupiter looks like, without that photo we also wouldn't have known
about the Great Red Spot and what it does. The Great Red Spot is a
anticyclonic storm thats been going on for 187 years now.
