1.

Of the Scriptures (12)

I. I believe in the inspiration of the scriptures. - The doctrine of inspiration teaches

that: (1) the scriptures did not come from the will of or origin of man. Man did not write
what he thought he should. (2) Rather God the Holy Ghost supernaturally moved the
writers of scripture to pen down the words of God accurately, reliably, and without any
error.
A. 2 Peter 1:19-21 – “We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do
well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn,
and the day star arise in your hearts: 20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the
scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by
the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”
II. Not only does the Bible claim to be God’s word and not mans word, but the
authors themselves claim their writings are Gods and not their own. Over 3800
times O.T. writers claim they are writing the words of God. I believe inspiration is
not just true for a portion of scripture but for the whole of scripture.
A. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 – “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable
for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the
man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
III. Since the Holy Spirit inspired the scripture, it is not of human origin,
therefore it is inerrant, infallible, incorruptible, eternal and contains only truth.
A. John 17:17 – “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”
B. Psalm 119:160 – “Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy
righteous judgments endureth for ever.”
C. Psalm 119:89 – “For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.”
D. Matthew 5:18 – “For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or
one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.”
IV. Gods word will be our standard for judgment
A. John 12:48 – “He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that
judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.”
V. Gods word is not to be added to or taken away from
A. Revelation 22:18-19 – “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the
prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him
the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the
words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life,
and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
B. Proverbs 30:5-6 – “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put
their trust in him.6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be
found a liar.

given me life.
V. In Regards to Christians, the Holy Spirit
A. Indwells the Believer forever
1. John 14:16-17- And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another
Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth;
whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him:

searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh
intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
VI. In regards to the world
A. John 16:8-11– “And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of

because the prince of this world is judged.
VII. Restrains the evil one until God’s purposes are fulfilled
A. 2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 – “For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he
who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked

and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in
Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

4. Of Satan or the Devil (19)

I. Satan was once holy and enjoyed heavenly honors, but through pride and
ambition to be as God, fell
A. Ezekiel 28:14-17 – “Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set
thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in
the midst of the stones of fire. 15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou
wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. 16 By the multitude of thy merchandise
they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will
cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering
cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy
beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to
the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
B. Isaiah 14:12-15 – “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!
how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou
hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the
stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the
north:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 15
Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
II. The enemy of God, author of all false religions, behind the present apostasy, the
lord of the antichrist, and the author of all the powers of darkness
A. Ephesians 2:2 – “Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this
world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the
children of disobedience:”
B. 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 – “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers,
transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan
himself is transformed into an angel of light.
III. Satan still has access to heaven and is the accuser of the brethren, mans great
tempter and adversary, but will one day be cast out of heaven finally and completely
A. Revelation 12:7-10 – “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels
fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8 And prevailed not;
neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was cast
out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he
was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 10 And I heard a
loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of
our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down,
which accused them before our God day and night.
B. I Peter 5:8 – “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring
lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”
C. Matthew 4 – He was the tempter who tempted Jesus Christ
IV. He will be bound for 1000 years (Revelation 20:1-3
V. He will be finally sentenced to the lake of fire for ever
A. Revelation 20:10 – “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire
and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day
and night for ever and ever.”

5. Of Creation (11)
I. We believe in the Genesis account of creation, that it is literal and not figurative
or allegorical.
A. Genesis 1:1 – “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
B. Exodus 20:11 – “For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and
all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the
sabbath day, and hallowed it.”
C. Hebrews 11:3 – “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the
word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”
D. John 1:3 – “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made
that was made.
E. Colossians 1:16-17 – “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and
that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or
principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is
before all things, and by him all things consist.”
II. God made man in His own image
A. Genesis 1:26-27 – “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our
likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the
air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that
creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God
created he him; male and female created he them.
III. Creation was not a matter of evolutionary change over time from one species to
another, from a lower form of life to higher; but was created directly from God and
will bring forth only after “their kind”
A. Genesis 1:11 (plants
B. Genesis 1:24 – “And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his
kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.”
IV. Creation is the general revelation of God that clearly evidences that there is an
all powerful Creator God, leaving man without excuse.
A. Romans 1:19-20 –“ Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them;
for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation
of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his
eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:”

6. Of The Fall of Man

I. I believe man was created in a state of innocence under his Maker, but by
voluntary transgression, fell from his sinless state. Which resulted in the transfer of
sin from all mankind who are born of a women, known as inherited sin. I believe men
are sinners by nature and also by choice, leaving man guilty and without defense or
excuse before God and under His just condemnation.
A. Genesis 3:1-6 – “Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field
which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye
shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may
eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst
of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4
And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in
the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing
good and evil. 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it
was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit
thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.”
B. Romans 5:12-19 – “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and
death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” Wherefore *, as
by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all
men, for that all have sinned: 13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not
imputed when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even
over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the
figure of him that was to come. 15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if
through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by
grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. 16 And not as it
was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but
the free gift is of many offences unto justification. 17 For if by one man's offence death
reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of
righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) 18 Therefore as by the offence of
one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the
free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. 19 For as by one man's disobedience
many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
C. Romans 3:10-19 – “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There
is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone out
of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not
one. 13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the
poison of asps is under their lips: 14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: 15
Their feet are swift to shed blood: 16 Destruction and misery are in their ways: 17 And
the way of peace have they not known: 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes. 19
Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the
law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
D. Ecclesiastes 7:20 – “There is not a just man upon the earth, that doeth good, and sinneth
not.”
E. Isaiah 64:6 – “We are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy
rags.”
F. Jeremiah 17:9 – “The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, who can
know it?”
G. Galatians 3:22 – “But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith
of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

7. Of the Virgin Birth

I. I believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Ghost in a miraculous
manner, and that He was born of the virgin Mary as no man has ever or will ever be
born, that He is both the Son of God and God the Son.
A. Genesis 3:15 – “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between
thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”
B. Isaiah 7:14 – “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin
shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
C. Matthew 1:18-25 – “Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his
mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with
child of the Holy Ghost. 19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not
willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. 20 But
while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a
dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for
that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21 And she shall bring forth a son,
and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. 22
Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the
prophet, saying,23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child and shall bring forth a son, and
they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. 24 Then
Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took
unto him his wife: 25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son:
and he called his name JESUS.”
D. John 1:14 – “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld
his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

8. OF THE ATONEMENT OF SIN

I. I believe that salvation of sinners is only by the grace of God through Jesus
Christ, and that good works have no ability to merit us favor with God or aid our
salvation in the slightest. Good works have to do with the result of our salvation but
not the means. In other words, we don’t do good works to get saved, we do good
works because we are saved. Man could not through good deeds work himself back
into righteous favor with God.
A. Ephesians 2:8-10 – For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we
are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before
ordained that we should walk in them.
B. Titus 3:5-7- “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to
his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy
Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7 That
being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal
life.
C. 2 Timothy 1:9 –“Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not
according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given
us in Christ Jesus before the world began,”
D. Galatians 2:16 – “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but
by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be
justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the
law shall no flesh be justified.”
II. I believe Jesus Christ was sent by God the Father to fulfill the work of salvation
A. John 3:16
B. I John 4:10 – “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent
his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”
III. I believe Jesus Christ took upon Himself our nature, yet without sin, that He
honored the divine law and that by his death made a full and vicarious atonement for
our sins. His death was not an example to us of being a martyr, but rather His
atonement was the voluntary substitution of Himself in the sinners place, the just
dying for the unjust.
A. Philippians 2:5-8 - Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: :6
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But
made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was
made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled
himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
B. Matthew 18:11 – “For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.”
C. I Timothy 1:15 - “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.”
D. Romans 3:24-25 - Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that
is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in
his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past,
through the forbearance of God;
E. 2 Corinthians 5:21 - For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin;
that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
F. I Peter 2:24 – “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we,
being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”
G. I Peter 3:18 – “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust,
that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the
Spirit:
H. Hebrews 9:12 - Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he
entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.”
I. Isaiah 53 – “Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD
revealed ? 2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a
dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no
beauty that we should desire him.3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of
sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was
despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our
sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was
wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of
our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have
gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him
the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his
mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is
dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment:
and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for
the transgression of my people was he stricken. 9 And he made his grave with the
wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was
any deceit in his mouth. 10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to
grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall
prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. 11 He shall
see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my
righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore will I
divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong;
because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the
transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the
transgressors.
J. Jesus is our intercessor , the beginning and ending of our faith After His
death He resurrected victoriously over death and is now sitting on the right
hand of God.
1. Hebrews 7:25 – “Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that
come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.”
2. Hebrews 12:2 – “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who
for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and
is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
K. Jesus is the only way of salvation, I believe in the exclusive claims of the
scriptures that Jesus is the only suitable, perfect and all sufficient Savior.
1. John 14:6 – “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no
man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
2. Acts 4:12 – “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other
name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
3. I John 5:11-12 – “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal
life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath
not the Son of God hath not life.”
4. John 3:36 - “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that
believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”

9. OF GRACE IN THE NEW CREATION

I. I believe that in order to be saved, sinners must be born again
A. John 3:3 – “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
II. I believe that the new birth is a new creation in Christ Jesus, and that it is
instantaneous and not a process; that the sinner is made a partaker of the divine
nature and receives eternal life, this is known as “regeneration”, we receive a new
nature, our dead spirit is now made alive in Christ.
A. 2 Peter 1:4 – “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises:
that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption
that is in the world through lust.”
B. 2 Corinthians 5:17 – “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old
things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
C. John 1:12-13 – “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become
the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of
blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
D. I John 5:1 – “Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and
every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.”
III. I believe the evidence of this is shown in repentance, faith and a newness of
life.
A. Galatians 5:22-24 – “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering,
gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24
And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

10. Of The Freeness of Salvation

I. I believe that the offer of salvation is made free to all by the gospel, I believe that
God’s omniscience allows Him to foreknow who will be saved, even before the
foundation of the earth according to the scriptures, but that He did not choose some
to salvation and others to hell. I believe Jesus died on the cross for all of mankind,
that His death is sufficient for all mankind but only efficient for those who receive
Him by faith. The only thing that keeps the sinner from salvation is his own
inherent depravity and voluntary rejection of the gospel.
A. I John 2:2 – “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also
for the sins of the whole world.”
B. John 3:15-16 – “That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
C. Romans 10:11-13 – “For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not
be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same
Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the
name of the Lord shall be saved.”
D. I Timothy 2:4-6 – “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the
knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men,
the man Christ Jesus; 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.”
E. 2 Peter 3:9 – “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count
slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all
should come to repentance.”
F. Titus 2:11 – “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
G. Luke 14:23 – “And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and
hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. “
H. Matthew 23:37 – “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and
stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children
together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!”
I. John 6:37 – “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to
me I will in no wise cast out.”
J. 2 Corinthians 5:11a – “Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade
men;..”
K. Isaiah 33:11 – “Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in
the
L. death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye
from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?”
M. Isaiah 45:22 – “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am
God, and there is none else.”

11. Justification
I believe when someone receives the gospel of Jesus Christ they are justified. This is
not a process that begins with accepting Christ as the first step, but rather is
instantaneous. Jesus Christ is the only way a person becomes “justified”, no works,
no baptism, no church attendance, only Christ. Justification is the act of God
whereby our legal standing in heaven is changed and we are declared righteous.
Justification has two elements: 1. The Forgiveness of Sin, and the Removal of Its
Guilt and Punishment; 2. Christ’s righteousness is imputed to us, and we are brought
back into favor with God.
I. 2 Corinthians 5:21 - For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we
might be made the righteousness of God in him.
II. Romans 3:24-25 - Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in
Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare
his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
III. Romans 3:20, 28 – “Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in
his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by
faith without the deeds of the law.” (Acts 15:11)
IV. Romans 4:1-8 – “What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the
flesh, hath found ? 2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not
before God. 3 For what saith the scripture * Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for
righteousness. 4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. 5 But to
him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for
righteousness. 6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God
imputeth righteousness without works, 7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and
whose sins are covered. 8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
V. Hebrews 10:4, 10-14, 17 – 4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of
goats should take away sins. 10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of
the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and
offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 But this man,
after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; 13
From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. 14 For by one offering he
hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. 17. And their sins and iniquities will I
remember no more. 18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

12. Repentance and faith (Conversion)

“How do you believe a person gets saved, what is the process”
I. I believe salvation begins and ends with the work of God in the sinners life. God the Holy
Ghost convicts the sinner of his sin, of his helplessness to be saved on his own, and opens his eyes
to the truth concerning the way of salvation by Christ alone.
II. I believe in order for one to be saved there are three inseparable truths that must be evident
in the sinners life. The first I believe is that they must “Repent” of their sins. Repentance alone does
not save, but repentance is necessary for salvation. Repentance begins with a change in mind
concerning sin that results in a change of action, the sinner turns from their sins and turns to
Christ. This doesn’t mean a sinner becomes perfect in his deeds, but I believe true biblical
repentance begins the work of the Holy Spirit in a persons life who then begins to perfect the
believer. He changes us, he changes our desires, our thoughts, and our will (Phil. 1:6).
A. (John the Baptists’ message was) Matthew 3 – “And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom
of heaven is at hand.”
B. (When Jesus began His earthly ministry in Matthew 4:17 (he says) – “From that time
Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
C. Luke 13:3, 5- “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”
D. Acts 17:30 – “And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all
men every where to repent:
E. Acts 26:20 – “But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout
all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and
do works meet for repentance.
F. Romans 2:4 – “Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and
longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?”
G. 2 Corinthians 7:10a – “For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation…”
1. Repentance is so powerful it can only be accomplished by the Spirit of God
working on the sinners life. Even miracles could not cause people to repent.
a) Matthew 11:20 – “Then began he to upbraid the cities wherin most of his
mighty works were done, because they repented not.” (Also Lazarus).
III. Secondly the sinner must “Believe” on the Lord Jesus Christ, they must place
their faith in Him alone for salvation.
A. I John 5:1a – “Whosoever BELIEVEth that JESUS is the CHRIST is born of God:”
B. John 3:15-16 – “That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in
him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
C. John 3:18 – “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is
condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of
God.”
D. John 3:36 - “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not
the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”
E. Acts 16:31 – “And they said, BELIEVE on the Lord JESUS CHRIST, and thou shalt be
saved, and thy house.”
IV. When a person Believes in Jesus Christ, they will repent of their sins, and this
will in turn cause the sinner to confess Jesus Christ as their Savior.
A. Romans 10:8-10, 13 – “But what saith it ? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and
in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; :9 That if thou shalt confess with thy
mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the
mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord
shall be saved.”
B. Matthew 10:31 – “Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess
also before my Father which is in heaven.”
V. When repentance, faith, and a response from the sinner to call out to God happen in a
sinners life, this is known as “Conversion”.
13. The church
I. The Church, which comes from the Greek word, “ekklesia” meaning “called out
ones” is used 115 times in the N.T. 100+ times they refer to a local church or
churches. Ekklesia never refers to a building, denomination, or state church, the
primary sense of the word is the local church.
II. Names of the Church
A. The Body of Christ – Christ being the head and we being the members of that
body working together to serve each other and the Lord.
B. The Pillar and Ground of the Truth (I Timothy 3:15) – The word of God is kept
firm and established in the church.
C. The Temple of God – Jesus is called the chief cornerstone, and we are the
building stones.
III. Definition of a local church is a body of believers, immersed upon a credible
confession of faith in Jesus Christ, having two officers (Pastor & Deacon), sovereign in polity,
and banded together for work, worship, the observance of the ordinances, and worldwide
proclamation of the Gospel.
IV. The local church of the N.T. is composed of those who are:
A. 1. Regenerated
1. Acts 2:41, 47
B. Baptized
1. Acts 2:41, Matthew 28:19
a) There are greek words for sprinkle, but they are never used,
immersion is the only one used.
C. Organized with scriptural offices of Pastor and deacon
1. Philippians 1:1; I Timothy 3:1-13
D. Share a common faith (our articals of faith, their apostles doctrine)
1. Acts 2:42, Jude 3
E. Observe Ordinances
1. Matthew 26:26-30, 28:19; Acts 2:41-42; I Cor. 11:23-31
F. Carry out the Great Commission
1. Matthew 28:18-20
G. Meet at regular times
1. Hebrews 10:25; John 20:19, 26, Acts 20:7, I Cor. 16:2
V. I am a Christian by faith, but I am a Baptist by choice. I believe the Baptist to
be the closest aligned to the scriptures. Our Baptist distinctives being:
A. Bible is the sole authority for faith and practice
1. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 3:14-16; John 16:12-14
B. Autonomy of the local church we hold that the local church has the absolute right of self
government, free from the interference of any hierarchy of individuals or organizations; and that the
one and only superintendent is Christ through the Holy Spirit;
1. self governing (Matt. 18:15-17)
2. self supporting (2 Corinthians 9:7-14; I Cor. 16:1-2
3. Self propagating – churches start churches, I don’t believe a man can
get with a group of people and say we are a church, they must be sent out
from a home church, otherwise they are illegitimate (just like a man and
women who get together say they are married because they live together,
they may “say” they are, but biblically they are not.) (Acts 13:1-3)
C. Priesthood of the believer
1. I Peter 2:5-9
D. Two ordinances
1. Baptism by immersion (Matthew 28:19, Acts 8:37)
2. Lord’s supper (I Corinthians 11:23-31)
E. Individual Soul liberty
1. I John 2:27; Romans 14:5
F. Saved, Baptized membership
1. Acts 2:42, 47
G. Two officers – Pastor/Deacon
1. Philippians 1:1; I Timothy 3:1-13
H. Separation
1. Civil Separation
2. Ecclesiastical separation from other churches that do not hold sound
doctrine. Titus 1:9, 2:1; Jude 3
3. Personal Separation from worldly practices (2 Cor. 6:14-7:1)
VI. What is the mission of the Church?
A. We believe the true mission of the church is found in the Great Commission: First, to make
individual disciples by the propagation of the gospel; Second, to build up the church; Third, to teach
and instruct as He has commanded. We do not believe in the reversal of this order;
B. Matthew 28:18-20
C.
VII. What are the 2 offices of a church, what are their qualifications. Can anyone be
a pastor,
A. The bible gives different names for the office of a pastor, there are 5 listed, they
are Elder, Bishop, Shepherd (Pastor), Herald (preacher), teacher. These names do not
refer to different offices, but rather different functions the pastor carries out.
Pastor: name means “shepherd”, we know Jesus is the head of the church and the
chief shepherd, we refer to the pastor as the “under-shepherd”. The pastor is given
the responsibilities of:
1. I believe Christ is the head of the Church, but has placed the pastor to
lead each local church body, to take the “oversight of the flock”, to
“guard and strengthen the flock, and to feed the flock”.
a) Acts 20:28 – “Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock,
over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the
church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.”
b) I Peter 5:1-3 – “The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also
an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of
the glory that shall be revealed: 2 Feed the flock of God which is among
you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for
filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; 3 Neither as being lords over God's
heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.
2. Qualifications of a Pastor: there are 17 qualifications listed:
a) I Timothy 3:1-7 – “This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a
bishop, he desireth a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the
husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to
hospitality, apt to teach; 3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of
filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; 4 One that ruleth well
his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; 5 (For if
a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the
church of God?) 6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into
the condemnation of the devil. 7 Moreover he must have a good report of
them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the
devil.
B. Deacon – I believe this office is first seen in Acts 6:1-6 when the widows were
being neglected. “Deacon” is derived from the Greek diakonos, meaning “a servant”, I
believe their duties are defined by the name “deacon”, they are servants to the
church, to aid the pastor as the second biblical office in a church. Not only do they
aid in physical areas but in spiritual areas as well; Stephen was a great testimony to
this in Acts 6.
1. I Timothy 3:8-13 speak of the qualifications of a deacon – “Likewise
must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not
greedy of filthy lucre; 9 Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. 10
And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being
found blameless. 11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober,
faithful in all things. 12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling
their children and their own houses well.
VIII. How does a church get supported financially? (ARTICLE 20)

14 Of Baptism And The Lord's Supper

I. I believe that Christian baptism is the immersion in water of a believer, in the
name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, with the authority of the
local church.
A. Definition: Baptize comes from the Greek word “baptizo” which means "to
dip, to sink, to submerge or to immerse."
B. How were people baptized in the Bible, in water or sprinkled?
1. John baptized "in" the Jordan River (Matt. 3:6)
2. After Christ was baptized, He "went up straightway out of the water" (Matt.
3:16).
3. John considered a place suitable for baptism because "there was much
water there"
4. Philip and the eunuch went down into the water for baptism and then came
up out of the water (Acts 8:38-39).
5. In the New Testament, the Greek word for "sprinkling" is rontizo. This word
would have been used to describe baptism if sprinkling had been the method
used
a) Total immersion was the only method of baptizing in the Bible.
II. What does it Mean?
A. Identifies you with Christ
1. Baptism can be defined theologically as a way of associating or identifying
yourself with someone, some group, some message, or some event.
2. Jews were baptized and associated with the Jewish faith
3. Israelites were baptized unto Moses, identifying with his leadership (I
Corinthians 10:2).
4. For James and John to be baptized with Christ meant to be associated with
His sufferings (Mark 10:38-39).
B. Joins you with the local Church
1. Acts 2:41 - Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the
same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
III. Is a picture of the death burial and resurrection of Christ.
A. Romans 6:3-5 – “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus
Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism
into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father,
even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted
together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his
resurrection:
B. Summary: The baptism of believers by immersion in water is the biblical pattern. It
is a picture of our death, burial, and resurrection with Christ, and identifies us with
Christ. It also joins you to the local Church.

The Lords Supper

I. I believe baptism and church membership and a solemn self-examination of ones life
before Christ are prerequisites to the privilege of partaking of the Lord’s supper. Only a
local church should administer the Lord’s supper, and only those members of that local
body should partake. It should be done regularly but no set time is given in the scriptures
as of how often. Where baptism symbolizes the “New Birth” experienced by the believer,
the Lord’s supper symbolizes the spiritual enrichment of the believer by Christ. Neither
one aid the believer in salvation in any way.
A. I Corinthians 11:23-30 – “For I have received of the Lord that which also I
delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took
bread: 24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my
body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25 After the same
manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new
testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26 For
as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he
come. 27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord,
unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man examine
himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. 29 For he that eateth
and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the
Lord's body. 30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many
sleep.

15 Of The Perseverance Of The Saints
Can a person loose their salvation
I believe we cannot loose our salvation for several reasons.
I. We did not save ourselves in the first place. Not one of my good works saved me, and if
good works can’t save me, good works can’t keep me saved. Again I believe good works
have nothing to do with getting someone saved, but when you are saved good works come.
II. We are no longer under the law but under grace. That which condemned us, being the
law, has been replaced by the grace of God.
A. Romans 6:14 – “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the
law, but under grace.”
B. Romans 5:20-21 – “Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But
where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: 21 That as sin hath reigned unto
death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus
Christ our Lord.” therefore I We believe that such only are real believers as endure
unto the end; that their persevering attachment to Christ is the grand mark which
distinguishes them from superficial professors; that a special Providence watches
over their welfare; and that they are kept by the power of God through faith unto
eternal salvation.
III. We are justified – our sins have been pardoned, and Christ’s righteousness has
been imputed, this is an eternal work.
A. Hebrews 10:10, 14 - “By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of
the body of Jesus Christ once for all. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever
them that are sanctified.”
IV.Jesus who saved us is able to keep us saved
A. JOHN 10:27-29 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I
give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, (WHAT DOES NEVER MEAN) neither
shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than
all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
B. Hebrews 7:25 - Wherefore he is able also to SAVE them to the UTTERMOST that
come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
C. I Peter 1:5 – “Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready
to be revealed in the last time.”
V. The Holy Ghost has sealed us
A. Ephesians 4:30
VI.We are no longer condemned
A. Romans 8:1 – “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ
Jesus,…”
VII. We are in God’s family, which He will not kick us out of, and are born again
with an incorruptible seed.
1. I Peter 1:23 Being BORN AGAIN, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible,
by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. (Romans 8:14-17)
VIII. I believe God is for us, and will not allow anything to separate us from Him.
A. Romans 8:31-39 – “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who
can be against us? 32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all,
how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall lay any thing to
the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. 34 Who is he that condemneth ? It is
Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God,
who also maketh intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or
sword? 36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are
accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than
conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor
life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the
love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

16. Of The Righteous And The Wicked

I. Biblically, I believe that there is a clear and essential difference between the righteous
and the wicked; that only those who have through faith been justified in Christ and are
being sanctified by the Holy Ghost, are truly righteous before God. We who were enemies
are now friends of God; We who were far from God are brought nigh by the blood of Christ;
We who were condemned are now justified; we who were wicked are now righteous in
Christ; we who were lost are now found in Christ; we who were the children of the devil
are now the children of God, all because of the work of Christ in us.
II. On the other hand there are those who will not repent and believe on the Lord Jesus
Christ, and in God’s eyes they are wicked and under the curse.
III. This condition for the righteous and wicked will hold true for man not only in this
life, but throughout eternity.
A. (Abraham – Sodom/Gomorrah) Genesis 18:23 – “And Abraham drew near, and
said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?”
B. (Solomon) Proverbs 14:32 – “The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but
the righteous hath hope in his death.”
C. Malachi 3:18 – “Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the
wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.”
D. Matthew 7:13-14 – “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is
the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat. 14
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few
there be that find it.”
E. Matthew 25:46 – “And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the
righteous into life eternal.”
F. Luke 16:25-26 – “But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime
receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted,
and thou art tormented. 26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great
gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they
pass to us, that would come from thence.”
G. 1 Corinthians 15:22 – “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made
alive.”

17. Of Civil Government

What do you believe, what is the Christians and Churches role?
I. I believe government is divinely appointed for the good of man, to keep order, to judge
lawbreakers, to protect the interest of the good. I believe no government will be perfect,
just as no church will be perfect because they are both humanly overseen by man; I
believe those in authority are to be prayed for, honored and obeyed in all things, except
where human government conflicts with God’s Word; in such cases I believe we are to obey
God rather than man.
A. I believe Christians and the Church have a responsibility to appoint men
with godly and biblical principles
1. Exodus 18:21-22a (Moses set rulers over the people of Israel in the
wilderness)- “Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such
as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be
rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:
22 And let them judge the people at all seasons:…”
2. 2 Samuel 23:3 – “The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He
that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.”
B. I believe we are to obey government unless their laws conflict with God and
His Word.
1. (Jesus) Matthew 22:21 - “Render therefore unto Caesar the things which
are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.”
2. (Paul) Romans 13:1-7 - “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers.
For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. 2
Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and
they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. 3 For rulers are not a
terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do
that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4 For he is the
minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid ; for
he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to
execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. 5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject,
not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. 6 For for this cause pay ye
tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very
thing. 7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom
to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.
3. (Peter obeys) I Peter 2:13-14, 17 – “Submit yourselves to every ordinance
of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; 14 Or unto
governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers,
and for the praise of them that do well. 17 Honour all men. Love the
brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.
4. (Peter disobeys) Acts 4:18-20 - “And they called them, and commanded
them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John
answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken
unto you more than unto God, judge ye. 20 For we cannot but speak the things
which we have seen and heard.
5. Daniel 3:17-18 – “If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us
from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor
worship the golden image which thou hast set up.”

18. Of The Resurrection And Return Of Christ And Related Events
I. Rapture (Pre-tribulation view)– All the saved, without exception, will be taken
from the earth before the 7 year tribulation begins. Their will be a resurrection, the
dead in Christ will rise first, than we who are alive will be changed instantaneously
and will meet the Lord Jesus Christ in the air. I believe this is imminent, that it can
happen at any time and there are no signs leading up to this.
A. I Thessalonians 4:16-17 – “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a
shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in
Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up
together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be
with the Lord.”
B. I Corinthians 15:50-54 – “Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot
inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I
shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a
moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and
the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible
must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this
corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on
immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is
swallowed up in victory.”
C. I believe in this view because:
1. A consistent literal interpretation of the scriptures demands this conclusion.
2. Imminent return of Christ – no signs leading up to the rapture, but there
are very clear signs leading to Christ’s second coming, known as the
“Revelation” of Jesus Christ, therefore these two events must be distinct one
from the other.
3. I Thessalonians 1:10 – “And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he
raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.”
4. I Thessalonians 5:9 – ““For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to
obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ.”
5. Revelation 3:10 – Christ promises the church deliverance from the “hour of
(trial) temptation).
6. The 24 elders representing the church, are in heaven before the
tribulation begins.
II. 7 year tribulation
A. 4 times in the N.T. the tribulations is spoken of as a time such as was never
before seen on the earth. It is called a time of wrath, judgment, indignation, trouble,
and trial. The Antichrist will emerge on the scene after the rapture and sign a 7 year
peace treaty with Israel fulfilling the remaining 7 years of Daniel’s 70 week prophecy.
1. Daniel 9:27 - “He (Anti-Christ) shall confirm the covenant (treaty) with many for 1
week. (7 years)
2. In the midst of the 7 years the antichrist will break the covenant, and
demand worship of himself. The last 3 ½ years are known as a time of Great
Tribulation (Matt. 24:21)
B. At the end of the 7 years, Satan will make a final attempt to destroy Israel, the
kings of the east will march a 200,000,000 man army down the dried up Euphrates
river to battle the Antichrist; The northern kingdoms will also challenge the
antichrist. The place of this battle will be Armageddon, or Mt. Megiddo. Right before
Israel would be annihilated, Jesus Christ will appear with the saints, all the armies
will turn on Him and He will annihilate them. He will cast the beast (antichrist) and
false prophet into the lake of fire, and He will bind Satan for 1000 years during the
Millennial Kingdom.
III. 2 important events will take place during the 7 year tribulation
A. Judgment Seat of Christ – Also known as the Bema seat Judgment; The Greek
word “Bema” speaks of an elevated chair at the Ancient athletic games, upon which
the president or umpire of the arena sat. From here he observed the games and
rewarded the winners. It was never used of a judicial bench; it focuses on rewards.
This judgment is a time of reward or loss of reward for the believer, not the salvation
of the believer, only the redeemed will be at this judgment. It will be in heaven
immediately following the rapture, and Christ will be the Judge.
1. Romans 14:10 – “But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set
at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.”
2. 2 Corinthians 5:10 - “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ;
that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done,
whether it be good or bad.”
B. Marriage Supper of the Lamb
1. This will take place in heaven after the rapture and before the millennial
kingdom. This marriage supper will be attended by Christ and New Testament
Saints, the church age saints, being the “Bride of Christ”.
IV. 1000 year millennial reign – Satan bound for 1000 years
A. Jesus Christ will set up a literal throne in the city of Jerusalem, and reign as King
upon earth 1000 years. The saints will reign with Christ as Kings and priests of God.
The curse on the earth will be lifted hospitals will close their doors, soldiers will put
down their weapons, the earth will have total and complete peace. Animals will no
longer kill, a baby could play with a cobra or lion. The deaf and blind will be cured,
cancer will have no affect.
B. At the end of the 1000 year reign Satan will be loosed for a little season, he will go
to the 4 quarters of the earth, and deceive people. This final rebellion, known as the
battle of Gog and Magog will happen at Jerusalem as the army will come against
Jerusalem and a fire will come down from God out of heaven and devour them.
C. Satan will then be cast into the Lake of Fire.
V. Great white throne judgment –
A. This judgment is for the unbelievers of all ages, they will stand before God and will
be found guilty and cast into the lake of fire. We will also be present, not for
judgment but for witness.
B. Revelation 20:11-15 – “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it,
from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for
them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were
opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were
judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the
dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And
whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
VI. Eternity
A. Unbelievers having been sentenced for eternity to the lake of fire; now God
cleanses the universe by created a new heaven and a new earth which replace the old
heaven and old earth. God will dwell with believers for eternity, there will be no more
sin which marred God’s original creation, “for the former things are passed away.”
B. Revelation 21:1-5 – “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first
heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I
John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven,
prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of
heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with
them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their
God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more
death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former
things are passed away. 5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all
things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.”

19 Of Missions
I. The command to give the gospel to the world is clear and unmistakable and this
Commission was given to the churches. I also believe it is scriptural for true churches to
cooperate with each other in contending for the faith and for the furtherance of the
Gospel.
A. Matthew 28:18-20, "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying All power is
given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you and, lo I am
with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."
B. Mark 16:15, "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world and preach the
gospel to every creature."
C. John 20:21, "As my Father hath sent me, even so send I you."
D. Acts 1:8, "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you;
and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in
Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."
E. Romans 10:13-15, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in
him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how
shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that
preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!"

20 Of The Grace Of Giving

I. I believe the tithe is the Lords, Leviticus 27:30 says “The tithe…is the Lords”.
Tithe just means 10%, offering is anything above the tithe and can be used for
missions, building fund, ect.
II. I don’t believe the tithe is only an O.T. mandate under the Law;
A. Abraham gave the tithe of all he had some 400 years before the law came into
existence according to Hebrews 7:2, 4.
B. Jesus said concerning the tithe in Matthew 23:23 – “these ought ye to have
done”.
III. We are commanded to bring our gifts into the storehouse (common treasury of
the temple in the Old Testament; in the N.T. this was the Church upon the first day
of the week.)
A. Malachi 3:8-10 – “Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have
we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. 9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me,
even this whole nation. 10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in
mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the
windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to
receive it.”
B. 1 Corinthians 16:2 - "Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by
him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come
C. Acts 4:34,35,37, "And brought the prices of the things that were sold and laid
them down at the apostles' feet ... Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and
laid it AT THE APOSTLES' FEET."
IV. I believe it should be done with a joyful heart
A. Paul is speaking to the church at Corinth about a collection for other Christians
who were in need and says in regards to giving-
1. 2 Corinthians 8:7, "Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and
utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that
ye abound in this grace also."
Is Jesus Christ deity?
I. He was prophesied of as God
A. Isaiah 9:6 – “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the
government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful,
Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
B. Matthew 1:23 – “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son,
and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”
II. He is called God by His disciples and Apostles
A. Colossians 2:9 (speaking of Christ) – “For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the
Godhead bodily.”
B. I Timothy 3:16 – “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God
was manifest (made known) in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels,
preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”
C. Philippians 2:5-7 – “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was
made in the likeness of men:
D. Thomas after he saw and touched the resurrected Christ professed in John
20:28 – “And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.”
E. Titus 2:13 – “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great
God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;”
F. John 5:18 – “Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only
had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal
with God.
III. Jesus has always been God, He did not become a god, or is a god, Jesus is thee God
A. John 1:1-3 – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the
Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God.3 All things were made by
him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”
B. Isaiah 44:6 – “Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts;
I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
C. John 17:5 – “And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory
which I had with thee before the world was.”
D. John 8:58 – “Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham
was, I am.”
IV. God the Father declared Jesus to be God
A. Hebrews 1:8 – “But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever:
a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
