eration the v a r y i n g d i s c h a r g e along the plot, the slope of the w a t e r - s u r f a c e r e l a t i v e to the bed of
the plot, the slope of the plot, and t h e r e s i s t a n c e to flow a s a function of rainfall-intensity, t e m
perature of w a t e r , and r o u g h n e s s of p l o t - s u r f a c e . The equation h a s been used to compute profiles
for typical r u n s a s shown in F i g u r e s 7 and 8. T h e a v e r a g e variation between detention computed
