Overview: In phase 2 of my capstone project, I have created learning objectives in order to

measure my students learning and whether they have learned through my technology
implementation with iPad apps and my instruction. In each assessment, students will choose
the type of pattern that is represented (identify), the item that comes next and draw a picture of
the same type of pattern in the assessment (create/recreate).

Objective 1
Instructional Issue: Pre-Kindergarten students are not able to identify, create, or recreate
patterns in various contexts using different manipulatives.
Technology-Based Solution: Daily practice with Caboose Express and Learning Patterns apps.
Outcome: When given a Kahoot interactive assessment with all types of patterns studied AAB,
AABB and ABC, students will be able to identify the type of pattern and continue the pattern
through recreation by choosing the correct manipulative that comes next and recreate a similar
pattern.
ABCD Objective: After using Caboose Express and the Learning Patterns apps, students will be
able to identify the item that comes next in the pattern with 90% accuracy.
A: students
B: will identify
C: when given a Kahoot assessment
D: 90% accuracy
Assessment: Kahoot assessment

Objective 2
Instructional Issue: Pre-Kindergarten students are not able to identify, create, or recreate
patterns in various contexts using different manipulatives.
Technology-Based Solution: Daily practice with Caboose Express and Learning Patterns apps.
Outcome: When given a teacher created AAB assessment, students will be able to identify the
type of pattern and continue the pattern through recreation by choosing the correct manipulative
that comes next.

ABCD Objective: After using Caboose Express and the Learning Patterns apps, students will be
able to identify the item that comes next in the pattern on the teacher created assessment.
A: students
B: will identify
C: when given a teacher created AAB assessment
D: 90% accuracy
Assessment: teacher created AAB assessment

Objective 3
Instructional Issue: Pre-Kindergarten students are not able to identify, create, or recreate
patterns in various contexts using different manipulatives.
Technology-Based Solution: Daily practice with Caboose Express and Learning Patterns apps.
Outcome: When given a teacher created AABB assessment, students will be able to identify the
type of pattern and continue the pattern through recreation by choosing the correct manipulative
that comes next.
ABCD Objective: After using Caboose Express and the Learning Patterns apps, students will be
able to identify the item that comes next in the pattern on the teacher created assessment 90%
accuracy.
A: students
B: will identify
C: when given a teacher created AABB assessment
D: 90% accuracy
Assessment: teacher created AABB Assessment

Objective 4
Instructional Issue: Pre-Kindergarten students are not able to identify, create, or recreate
patterns in various contexts using different manipulatives.
Technology-Based Solution: Daily practice with Caboose Express and Learning Patterns apps
and a Kahoot assessment.
Outcome: When given a teacher created ABC assessment, students will be able to identify the
type of pattern and continue the pattern through recreation by choosing the correct manipulative
that comes next.
ABCD Objective: After using Caboose Express and the Learning Patterns apps, students will be
able to identify the item that comes next in the pattern on the teacher created assessment 90%
accuracy.
A: students
B: will identify
C: when given a teacher created ABC assessment
D: 90% accuracy
Assessment: teacher created ABC Assessment

Objective 5
Instructional Issue: Pre-Kindergarten students are not able to identify, create, or recreate
patterns in various contexts using different manipulatives.
Technology-Based Solution: Daily practice with Caboose Express and Learning Patterns apps.
Outcome: When given a teacher created observational assessment where the teacher creates a
pattern with manipulatives students will be able to identify the type of pattern the teacher create,
and recreate that same pattern with different manipulatives.
ABCD Objective: After using Caboose Express and the Learning Patterns apps, students will be
able to identify the item that comes next in the pattern with on the teacher created assessment
90% accuracy.
A: students
B: will identify
C: when given a teacher created ABC assessment
D: 90% accuracy

can not be made. After the assessment is done, I will include a copy of what I did and student
results with images and charts.
