LAB 2: EXERCISE A

TITTLE; DIRECT CONTROL SYSTEM

OBJECTIVE
I. Explain the meaning of Pneumatic
II. Describe the various gas valve
III. List the basic component required for a Pneumatic systems
IV. Set up and operated a pneumatic system using the Conditioning
Unit , a directional control valve and a cylinder
V. Set up and operated a one cycle reciprocation system
VI. To report briefly the pneumatic experiment in group

INTRODUCTION
Principle of operation After push button is pressed double-acting
cylinder extends. As long as the push button is actuated, the cylinder
remains in this position. Originally coined to give name to the science of
the motions and properties of air. Compressed air is a vital utility- just
like water, gas and electricity used in countless ways to benefit everyday
life . Pneumatic is application of compressed air (pressurized air) to
power machine or control or regulate machines. Simply put, pneumatics
may be defined as branch of engineering science which deal with the
study of the behaviour and application of compressed air
THEORY
Any gas can be used in pneumatic system but air is the most usually, for
obvious reasons. Exceptions are most likely to occur aircraft and space
vehicles where and invert gas such as nitrogen is preferred or the gas is
one which is generated on board.

SAFETY PROCEDURE
I. Do not start experiment without the technician or lecture
II. Do not using the damage equipment
III. Make sure the pneumatic hose is plug incorrect position and
should be deep though
IV. Store all the components at their exact place after complete all
the experiment
V. Setting on air supply to medium pressure (3-10 bars)
VI. Wear appropriate sloths to doing work
VII. Please obey the rules
PEOCEDURE
I. First of all, put 5/2 way DCV with the solenoid cylinder electro two
ways, electro and the hose at 8 size.
II. Put all the component on the lab work
III. Then, continues hose at 4/2 way DCV on the cylinder two ways on
the 5/2 way DCV and continues at two cylinder
IV. After that , electro wires from 0V to electro blue wires and from
24V to electro red wires
V. From electro blue wires continues to solenoid Y1 cylinder and to
solenoid Y2 cylinder.
VI. From solenoid Y1 continues to electro start button, and from
electro solenoid Y2 continues to electro Y2.
VII. Finally continues electro wires from electro 24V to start button 1
and start button 2.

RESULT/DISCUSSION
We compared the experiment circuit with actual circuit. We found
that type at DCV not same, experiment circuit use DCV 5/2 wat with
spring, but in actual circuit we used CVV 4/2 way with spring. It can
operate in complete circuit because the function of both DCV are same.
CONCLUSSION
We have learning about more how to manage the component and how
to make the processing the pneumatic circuit with good. Then, we also
can learn how to report and can learning about operation of pneumatic
circuit by group. Then we can get input from the name of component
and their function.
