Default Charts
Your chart administrator specifies default charts for an aerodrome. Default charts defined by your
chart administrator for the route identified on the Route screen are initially assigned the Chart
screen ribbon tiles. You can assign a different chart.
Assign a Chart
For ARR and ALTN, tile assignments and per-chart viewing options are saved for the duration of
the flight. For example, you assign tiles and modify the viewing options for ARR-CYYZ charts and
then change the aerodrome to ARR-CYVR; if you change back to ARR-CYYZ, the tile assignments
and viewing options are recalled. Note that ALTN-CYYZ is independent of ARR-CYYZ.
Tile categories determine which charts are available for assignment to a tile. Preset categories
cannot be changed.
DEP preset categories are: ARPT, SID, APPR
ARR/ALTN preset categories are: ARPT, STAR, APPR
To assign a Chart:
1 Tap the tile (A) you want to change to give focus, then tap it again to see a popup of available
charts.
2 If the list exceeds the space available, tap More... to view more buttons.
3 Tap the chart (B) you want to assign to the tile.
Note Not all types of charts are available for all aerodromes. For example, SID charts are
not published for all aerodromes by the civil aviation authorities.
Note Only categories that have charts for the specified Aerodrome are included in the list.
Note Swipe left or right to navigate through the available charts in a category. This
functionality becomes disabled when a chart is locked.
The Charts tool bar is visible when viewing Arrival, Alternate and Departure charts and when
viewing documents. It is always located in the left side of the screen.
The first button allows you to toggle between day and night mode.
The lock button allows you to lock the current view of a chart or document. When locked, icon turns
blue (A) and the rotate icons are disabled along with zoom and pan functionality. Tap the lock
button a second time to release the current view. The paperclip button allows you to add the chart
to clipboard for quick access. When selected the icon turns blue and the plus turns to a minus (A).
The paperclip button is unavailable for non-chart PDFs. See Clipboard on page 29 more
information.
The next two icons allow you to rotate the chart or document right or left.
Tap the list item you want more information about to:
Tap an item on the list to display more information. A box around the selected item appears
to indicate it has been selected (A) and the area is highlighted on the map (B).
An information panel in the top right corner is displayed with details about the highlighted
item (C)
When you are done reviewing information about map features at the tapped location, tap
anywhere outside of the popup list to close the information panel and the list.
The Layer tool bar at the top of the map allows you to control map details by turning layers on
and off.
