(Reflection Paper)

My reflection about the theater named Pambansang Bayan I already known in Marcos Era
when President Marcos has declared a Martial Law but many people has become violent many
people killed by military because they want to be free against marcos.And when the shocking
death toll of Filipinos when Ferdinand Marcos declared martial law in 1972 sent shivers through
Filipino society at the time. Marcos had a systematic campaign to kill dissidents, oppositionists
and anyone who opposed his iron fisted rule. The debate raging this past week was about the
decision of President Rodrigo Duterte to allow the burial of the late dictators body in the
Heroes Cemetery in Manila this coming 18 September. The father of President Duterte served
in the cabinet of Marcos and the President made an election campaign promise to allow the
burial. The Supreme Court is holding hearings on petitions filed by victims of Martial Law to
prevent the planned interment from happening, claiming that Marcos was a dictator of the
worst kind and was not a hero. The body of the late strong man lies embalmed and preserved in
a glass museum in his home on permanent display in Batac, Ilocos Norte.

When the assassination of Ninoy on 21 August 1983 marks a watershed in the unfolding
narrative of our nation. It drew millions of Filipinos to massively express their collective moral
outrage. More importantly, ordinary Filipinos, many of them politically indifferent until the
assassination, took to the streets in protest and withdrew the legitimacy they had unwittingly
bestowed on Marcoss authoritarian rule.In 2016 Rodrigo Roa Duterte won a Presidential race
this has becomes changes many innocent people died and drug addict who have no guns but
police killing them thats why many people become violent of what happened including
innocent ones like Kian Delos Santos is a Grade 11 student was the son of an OFW,His Mother is
a domestic worker In Saudi Arabia, whose killed by the cops because of drugs? But why did he
killed and salvaging him kian has no guns to protect himself but they killed Kian Delos Santos for
good.The cops who killed Kian Delos Santos should be prosecuted for their abuse of power.But
President Duterte should be viewed as equally guilty.His war on drugs has left a generation of
families mourning for unnatural deaths. Many priest has react to what happened like
extrajudicial killings Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle made a statement that
encouraged Filipinos to take a stand to protect all life, the children in the womb against being
aborted and those being killed in extrajudicial executions. We must protect the sanctity of life
and condemn all killings, he said.The criticism against the killing of suspects is that they are just
suspects. Anyone can be marked as a suspect by the finger-pointing of another and then be
killed.How shall freedom be defended?By arms when it is attacked by arms,by truth when it is
attacked by lies,by faith when it is attacked by authoritarian.Always, in the final act,by
determination and faith.
