/GilwellReunion
WELCOME TO REUNION 2017!
This weekend is the perfect opportunity to recharge
your Scouting batteries, to spend some quality time with
friends old and new, and to expand your horizons.

Like Scouting itself, the event evolves and changes. As we

mark our 91st anniversary, were focusing on the practical
elements that will help you create the most enjoyable and
inclusive programme possible.

The 2017 AGM is coinciding with the event - youll have

the chance to ask questions, and to help us shape our
strategy as we catapult Scouting into 2023. You can also
pick up plenty of useful skills and tips in our workshops
covering everything from disability awareness, to
safeguarding, to cooking classes - and speak to the team
about gaining activity permits. As night falls, we have
barn dances, pub quizzes and a Motown themed night
on offer.

All in all, an exciting weekend awaits! Do come and

say hello to me, and to the other members of Team UK
lots of us are around, and wed love to have a chat.

As ever, what you make of Reunion is up to you.

Whatever you do, we hope you enjoy every moment,
and return home feeling rejuvenated.

Tim, UK Chief Commissioner

green scarf with a Gilwell axe and log design on the
back. If you need anything, please ask them. They will
be happy to help.

Fire and emergency procedures

Open fires are only allowed in altar fires, placed a safe
distance away from tents. In the event of a fire, please
alert any member of staff, who will take responsibility
for calling the emergency services.

When you check in at the event reception, you will

receive a copy of the site emergency procedures
document. Please ensure all members of your party
read this thoroughly.

Indoor accommodation
Please note that residents of the Lodges have paid for
exclusive use of the kitchen/catering and wash/shower
room facilities. Campers are not permitted to use these
facilities at any time. The camper toilets and shower
facilities are shown on the map.

5
Vehicles
Every opportunity is taken to reduce the number of
vehicles moving around the estate. All vehicles must
be parked in the Branchet Field car park and must not
be parked in any of the camping areas. Any vehicles
parked outside of this area will be removed.

Please be aware that any vehicle movement must be

agreed with the Traffic Management Team. Certain areas
(e.g. Essex Chase) are only accessible after the event
finishes on Sunday. If you have to leave early, please
contact the Scout Adventures before pitching your tent.
They will be able to allocate an appropriate space for you.

Moving equipment
To maintain site safety, vehicles will not be permitted on
the campsites at any time during the event. Kit runs will
be organised where necessary. Please speak to a member
of the Traffic Management Team on site if kit runs are
required. Your full cooperation with the team during
this busy time is very much appreciated. Trolleys are also
available on request.

First aid
First aid assistance will be provided over the weekend.
The first aid point will be located at the centre of the
White House. If urgent first aid is required, please ask

6
Rubbish and recycling
All rubbish on the site is recycled once collected. Please
place cans, bottles and cardboard in the recycling bins
located in the Camp Square, or in the other blue recycling
bins around the site.

Non-recyclable waste should be deposited in the nearest

metal wheelie bin. Please do not leave plastic bags in the
fields or next to litter bins. Plastic refuse sacks are available
from the site reception office, and you will receive one
upon checking in. Please ensure that your camping area is
left free of litter when you depart, and help to keep
Gilwell Park tidy.
