Clock system (CLS) in the Flexi BSC

Purpose: The CLS generates the clock signals necessary for the Flexi BSC.
The oscillator of the CLS is normally synchronised to an external
source, usually an MSC, through a PCM line. Up to two additional
PCM inputs are provided for protection.
Protection: 2N
Type: Functional unit with no subunits
Number of
2 as one CL3TG-UA plug-in unit contains one entire CLS unit

Wired alarm interface to OMU
CLS in the first-delivery Flexi BSC
In Flexi BSC, CLS is housed in two identical parts of the SGC1C-A cartridges. A new
variant of CL3TG, the CLTG3-UA is introduced in S14 deliveries.
The basic configuration is illustrated in figure Clock and Synchronisation Unit (CLS) in
SGC1C-A cartridge and table Plug-in units of the CLS in SGC1C-A cartridge.

Notes
1) The Clock and Synchronisation Unit (CLS) pair (CLS 0
and CLS 1; equipped in different SGC1C-A cartridges)
requires only one 2 Mbit/s circuit.
2) One CL3TG-UA plug-in unit contains one entire CLS
unit.

Performance characteristics of CL3TG-UA
In the plesiochronous operation mode, the frequency shift of the CL3TG-UA is 2 x 10-8
within each 24-hour period, if the temperature of the environment does not vary.
Number of synchronisation inputs:
