the 1990s. However, visitor numbers climbed to 8 million in 2004 and were up again to 8.6
millionlastyear.FiguresfromtheEgyptianTouristAuthorityshowthatinthefirstsixmonthsof
thisyeartouristnumberswereup12%onthesameperiodin2005.Thereareplanstoboost
numbersto16millionby2014.

and especially in Scotland, they sing a special song called Auld Lang Syne. In large cities
