Freed Web, website building service.

I. Executive Summary

Internet became the most important aspect of society, since the beginning of its existence in
1980s. We all now use internet to do many things, to gain information that we need or even do a simple
thing like playing games. Now days, people tend to show their existence in the internet, they uploading
their pictures, posting status on Facebook, and creating videos on YouTube. Not only attracting teenagers,
Internet also plays the important role in business. Big companies until small business show their existence
through their website. Their website is their identity.

More than 65% of business firm put their company information, sales, and promotion on internet.
That makes them easily to find and they become closer to customer. However, the problem is the cost of
building website and maintaining it is very expensive. The server that used to store the website
information is located far away in Europe, and local server does not give much like the expectation. Small
businesses will think twice to create their website, and if they decide to put it off, they will lose
opportunity of making their businesses closer to customer and well known by public. Here I build my
company to give service that makes the mid and small businesses will not lose opportunity on the internet
by creating website. My business plan is Freed Web, which focus on website building service.

My business scope is website hosting and internet service. Due to my company mission to be close
with mid and small businesses and help them grow, I decide to locate the Freed Web headquarter in
Bandar Lampung, but our services are available around Indonesia. Even though our company is focus on
regional scale, it does not mean it has regional quality. To give the best service to our customer but still in
reasonable price, we use cloud-drive1 service from most known company like Dropbox, box.com, and
Google drive as our server choice. Therefore, those cloud-drives give easy to access file transfer and
reliable uptime and cheaper price more than local servers.

At the beginning, I focus on giving the service to businesses in Bandar Lampung, but later it will
develop to national scale. I will hire employees who have knowledge and experience in building website.
I will allocate 300 million rupiahs to build my company that includes preparations to set up headquarter
promotion, and wages.

III. Company Description

The original idea of this business is to give easiness for small to middle businesses to take the
opportunity of using current technology. The basic information in society today is internet profile, people
tend to show their existence in internet, they connected each other through internet, and find information
on the internet. If small and middle businesses take this opportunity to post their company and product
information in internet, they will rise their chance to develop, close to customer, and well known to the
public.

However, creating company image in internet (on the web) is not as easy as register ourselves to
Facebook. They need domain name, which represent their company identity, and it became the address
of their company on the web, such as www.toshiba.co.id is the domain name of Toshiba Indonesia. Not
only domain name that they need, but they also have to put the contents of their website in the server
and maintain it. It is a complicated procedure for small and middle business to accomplish. Besides, the
cost of building the website is rather more expensive than buying the domain name. Therefore, here I
come with the solution, I plan to make an all-in-one service to register domain name, rent server, building
the website, and maintaining it. My will-be company name is Freed Web.

At the first time, Freed Web will only focus in giving service to company and businesses in Bandar
Lampung. After we reach our target to give service to local businesses, we will continue to develop Freed
Web to be available for UKM businesses in Lampung province, and later to national scale.

The sales of our service forecasted will be very high, it shown by the demand of business owner who want
to build website for their business keep rising all the time. Even the new-established businesses are
directly try show and present their existence through internet. Therefore, Free Web will gain much profit
from this opportunity. I decide to build Freed Web headquarter in Bandar Lampung, the reason is it suit
our first target to focus in giving service to small and middle businesses in Bandar Lampung, but our
services are available around Indonesia.

Even though our company is focus on regional scale, it does not mean it has regional quality. To give the
best service to our customer but still in reasonable price, we use cloud-drive service from most known

IV. Products and Services

Freed Web provides a service to build website, rent server, register domain name, and maintain
it all at once. We set up all of those things to make our clients companies and businesses accessible on
the web in the easiest way. We offer professional web building service and store clients website
information in secure internet server. They do not need to register the domain name by themselves or
rent the server by themselves, we will set those things up and design their website based on their request
all at once.

A. Product description
Naturally, we only help the business owner to build their businesss website and design it. However, to
build the website we need domain name, server, but almost all of business owner will not understand
about those things, and they want direct instant result without thinking where actually their website is
stored. So we registered their domain name first then decide where the files will be placed. Because we
do not have enough funding to build our own server, we use the already-exist server like Dropbox,
box.com, and Google drive. Those servers have a cheap rent price but with very reliable and high quality.

B. Packages
Freed Web offers several packages which suit to clients and customers needs. We offered three
packages2, those are:

1. Basic package includes instant website building, design, and maintenance.


2. Pro package; includes the Basic package with additional e-mail service with your own domain
website like conatct@mybusinessname.com instead of mybusinessname@gmail.com
3. Premium package; includes the Basic package and Business package plus the statistic information
about customer behavior in the social network, like when is the best time to promote certain
product in certain events or time, and online store for their products.

C. Prices
The price for our service is reasonable and cheaper than separated services for register domain name,
rent server, design the web page, and maintenance. We offer monthly payment, six-month payment, and
yearly payment for each package. 3

V. Market analysis

A. Opportunity
Freed Web has already faced with the existing opportunity on demands of website by business owner
and ordinary people. The business owners want to build their business website but they do not have
knowledge about it and do not know how to make it. Nowadays society life style that always connected
to internet is the main factor that draws the business owner not to only focus on promoting products in
the street but also to create website to gain more customers.

B. Market needs
The potential growth of internet usage is enormous. People will find information more in internet
rather than go to library, to provide this information and to give the right information about their company
or business the business owners need to create their own website, they will get a higher chance to be
more developed by providing their information in the website. Not only that, they will also have direct
access to customers who visit their website. They want to be close with the customer by providing
information on their website and having website is beneficial for them to gain more customer by
promoting their products online.

C. Market segmentation.
Freed Web target market can be divided into three groups.

1. The first group is the company or business, which want to show their existence in internet but still
do their transaction activities off the net. This group is usually small businesses that try to give
their product information on the web.
2. The second group is the company or businesses that want more than show their existence in
internet. They want connected directly to customer through internet but not selling their products
from it.
3. The last group is the businesses or companies, which want to show their existence in internet,
connected to customer directly, and do their transaction in their website or internet directly.

Those groups are Freed Web perfect target market, because Freed Web already has service packages
based on that segmentation, and they all have one in common; they want to build their businesses
website.

D. Distributing the service, and threat.


Freed Web service is not just to design the website, but to build the website, which means Freed Web
has to face others companies which provide domain registration, server rent, website designer, and
website maintenance. Some of them become Freed Web partner to provide the service. The good news
is even there is a lot of similar service to Freed Web, for now we just focus on local businesses as our
target market, so we do not have direct competition with them.

VI. Marketing Plan

We already have the opportunity that we need to sell our service, and then we have to make sure
that our target market knows about us. In order to do that, we plan to give our target market information
about us and persuade them to use our service by offer our service to them directly with proposal, email,
and phone. We convinced target market by proving us as a reliable partner, and our offering to suit their
needs. In order to do that, we let them know about us in our proposal that we have the latest computer
technology, powerful web application, reliable server, and clever and experienced technicians. We also
providing the latest trend in website design, with beautiful looking and easy to access by their customers.

We also need to change the mindset of business owners who not interested to create website for business
by giving them education through workshops and seminars. Workshops and seminars that we conduct
will serve knowledge to make them realize the important of online profile and the potential of it to gain
more customers. The conclusion, it is conducted to attract business owners that not think widely about
using the internet.

Our marketing plan in the future is to develop our business and to be the most chosen provider for
creating website by the middle and small businesses in Lampung. Then we plan to develop our service to
reach national customers in few years later.

Marketing strategy
In order to build clients awareness and demand, Freed Web will implement full marketing strategies

1. Analyze the market target needs

In providing the service, we must know the customers desires. Therefore, we provide the most
reliable service to build, design and maintain website for business, and provide the service that
divided into three packages based on customers needs.

2. Direct advertisement

Initially we plan to make a direct advertisement that will include advertising in newspaper, radio,
and coupons for discounts that we give in seminars to attract our customers. Besides advertising,
we also come directly to the market to offer our service to the potential customers and persuade
them with our proposal.

Freed Web realizes that in the future, we need to allocate additional revenue for promotion when the
competitors enter the market in order to maintain market share and to release our vision to provide the
service throughout Lampung and Indonesia.

VII. Operational Plan

Freed Web will be operated and run its business in Bandar Lampung city, the strategic place to
build Freed Web headquarter is in Kedaton region which it is become the most busy business site in
Lampung. We will be in touch with customers in our working hours on working days starting from 9.00
until 16.00 WIB (Indonesian Western Time). We also will be available for our customers via e-mail and live
chat in our main website.

To market our service, we will done things that explained clearly in the Marketing Plan chapter. We will
do promotion through advertisement, making proposal, and giving seminars for business owner on how
to take benefit from current technology like internet. Our seminar will be conducted monthly, and for the
first and second seminar, we will make it free but for the next seminar, it will take cost. In the seminar,
we plan to share coupons of discount price to build website with us.

The owner and 10 employees, including the front desk cashier, web developers, engineers, and an Office
boy, will manage freed Web. 4

The things that we need will be relied on the most current technology like 4G internet access, high
specification computers, and we need some people to help me running my business.

The detailed equipment are listed in the following

To run and maintain our service, we need partners in providing already-exist servers that will help us put
the information of our customers website. The strategic allies are Dropbox, box.com, and 4Shared.
Therefore, we plan to have contact with them to build strong a partnership.

VIII. Management

The management system of Freed Web will be based on sol partnership. Which mean I will
manage this business by myself, in order to run this business I hire 10 employees to help me.

Employment Staff
1. Front desk
Front desk cashier is the one who welcome the guest and customers, and manage several things
about office supplies and accounting management.
2. Office Boy
Office boy is someone who cleans the office and maintains it to keep in good condition.
3. Web developers
Web developers are people who design the web and building the website. They provide the
service to our customers.
4. Technician
Technicians help web developer in building website by registering domain name and the server,
they also fixing electronic things in the office.
5. Marketing and Public relation
People in marketing and public relation find the way to market our service, they also plan the
seminar and proposal, and they are the bridge of the company and public.

Based on math above, I have to spend around 19 million rupiahs for my employees wage.

IX. Financial Plan

The following section is the detailed layout of our financial plan for the beginning of funding and the
forecasted years ahead.

1. Startup funding
Startup funding prepared to obtain 300 million rupiahs. This amount will be used for the
supplemental financing that required to begin our service and set up our building, purchasing
equipment, and to cover expenses in the first year of operation. The financial plan of capital for
funding first operational years is allocated as the following.
a. We need funding for our fixed assets such as office supplies, computers, printers, routers, and
cables for 100 million rupiahs.
b. Operating expenses such as wages, advertisement expense, discount coupons, and seminars
for the first operational year will allocated for 80 million rupiahs
c. Monthly telephone and internet subscription, building rent, and maintenance will allocated
for 20 million rupiahs

2. Profit and loss prediction


We have target to have at least five new clients in a month, it makes we will have 60
clients in a year.
For the first month of registration, the clients will pay 5 until 8 million rupiahs based on their
package5 and later 3 until 5 million rupiahs for their monthly subscription service.
a. The revenue from the clients registration is forecasted to be 336 million rupiahs with detail;
two clients of Basic package, two clients of Pro package, and one client of Premium package
each month.
b. Moreover, for the monthly subscription revenue, we will got 1.768 million rupiahs. Quite big
amount to count but please consider also the expenses and our own monthly server
subscriptions. The net profit that Freed Web could gain is 442 million rupiahs in one
operational years.6

X. Appendix
1. Glossary

Internet : A network of interconnected computers.


Web : Internet content that could be seen from browser.
Website : a set of pages of information on the Internet about a particular subject, which
have been published by the same person or organization, and often contain
color pictures, video and sound.
Home page : The front page of website in the internet.
Domain : The address of website, website actually not look like www.google.com but
numbers of internet protocol address is like 127.08.32.1. It is hard for us to
remember those numbers, so there is an invention called domain that change
those numbers to words and easily accessible from browser.
Server : The place where the content of webpages originally saved. When we open a
website like www.ferri.ga, the things that we see on it is not saved in the
domain name, it is saved in the server which mostly different from the domain
name. Therefore, the server is place and the domain is the street name.
Hosting (web hosting) : A service that allows organization and individuals to put their information
website content onto the internet. It is the service for using server.
Web Building : The process of creating Website, which includes registering domain name,
renting server, and designing the website.
Drive (computing) : A device for storing computer information. Similar to server.
Cloud-drive : A drive that is not physically seen by us, a drive that offers storage space on a
remote server. It is used to store files on the internet when our physical hard
drive runs out.
Custom E-mail : An e-mail with unique domain address. Basically, we use email provider such
as @yahoo.com, @gmail.com. But custom E-mail domain provides domain
name like halo@ferri.ga (not usual one like gmail or yahoo)

3. Financial Estimation
With the estimation amount of clients are 60 clients a year, 5 new clients registration every month
that include 2 clients of Basic package, 2 clients of Pro package, and one client of Premium package each
month. The expense estimation for a year is 300 million rupiahs, which already estimated in the capital
investment. The salary for employees is 19 million rupiahs per months, which the first operational month
already included in the capital investment estimation.
