CO2/CH4
Dual Gas(MH-Z92)
Mechanical and Electrical characteristics
Description:
The MH-Z92 Module is a dual-gas pump
primed sensor that can measure both CO2
and CH4 using non-dispersive infrared (NDIR). It has an internal temperature sensor that
can be used for automatic temperature compensation. This device has both UART and
Analog output.
Characteristics:
High Sensitivity and resolution
5V constant power supply, low power consumption
UART and 0.4~2V analog voltage signal variety of output
Fast response and resume
Temperature compensation and excellent linear output
Excellent stability
Long life
Anti-poisons
Anti-vapor interference
Requires 500 mL per minute

5. Temperature Compensation:
Using the internal Temperature sensor, this module can compensate for
temperatures between 0oC~50oC. Margin of error is less than 3%FS within
50% of full range, and 5%FS when above 50% of the full range.
6. Analog Output:
The Sensor will take no longer than 90 seconds to preheat. During this
time the analog outputs will read ~0.2V. Once the sensor is ready the analog
output will read between 0.4V 2V representing the gas concentration.
7. Fault indication:
To ensure proper operation the sensor will monitor its input voltage and
analog output for faults. If a fault is detected it will pull the output down to 0V.

To ensure that the sensor as adequate power, the recovery time of the
power supply must be less than 50 ms and produce a voltage between
4.5V~5.5V DC. If the power is outside of that range the sensor will not work
properly.
9. Communication Protocol:
MH-Z92 communicates through a UART serial bus. The modules work in
a slave mode and must be polled for a reading by a host computer or MCU.
For more information please see the MH-Z92 communication protocol
datasheet.
10. Maintenance:
Sensor should be calibrated regularly. Ideally within every 6 months
Avoid prolonged exposure to high dust environments
Use of incorrect power supply can cause damage to the unit
