OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME :
The World Health Organization (WHO) is supporting the Ministry of Health (MOH) collaborative program
in Indonesia to promote the appropriate organization and effective operation of a comprehensive
tuberculosis control programme for the entire population to attain the objective of reducing transmission
of tuberculosis by implementing Directly Observed Treatment, Short-Course (DOTS) in line with the
National 5 year Strategic Plan and to support research activities to improve tuberculosis control.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Organizational context :
The incumbent will; Support the central level of National Tuberculosis Programme (NTP) in the
implementation and acceleration of DOTS activities under 5 Years Strategic Plan of the NTP with special
focus on the strengthening of Paediatric TB, TB/HIV collaborative activities at central, provincial and
district level; Assist NTP in developing guidelines/manuals and training modules on TB/HIV, tuberculin
test and plans in collaboration with key partners, and participate in TB training activities whenever
required or requested; Participate in the planning of strategies on TBIHIV and infection control as
requested by NTP in collaboration with key technical partner; Support monitoring and evaluations of
activities in the field on request of the NTP, by undertaking regular field visits to the provinces and
districts, along with the NTP staff, and submit reports of the findings and recommendations; Assist in
strengthening and streamlining TB surveillance activities in order to improve the recording and reporting
system, with special emphasis on capturing data related to TB/HIV; Perform any other tasks pertaining to
the NTP linked programmes as required by the WHO representative or the WHO medical officer for TB.
Desirable:
Training in management and/or public health and/or public health administration. Knowledge of
epidemiology and data analysis. Excellent knowledge of spoken and written Bahasa Indonesia.

Experience:
Essential:
At least 2 years of experience with effective TB Control in the development and implementation of health
programmes. Familiarity with government structure and procedures, familiarity with WHO policies and
practices, and working experience with WHO or other UN Agencies at the national and international level
is an asset will be advantage.

Annual salary:
(Net of tax) In accordance with WHO salary scale for NPO at NO-A level.
