visto il Gruppo Cavagna muoversi con acquisizioni e partecipazioni
nel mondo delle tecnologie e sistemi per il gas. Il risultato finale, concre-
tizzato nello scorso mese di ottobre, una nuova configurazione delle divisioni,
costituita ora da sei Business Division diverse per campi di interesse e target, ma
sinergiche per know-how e potenzialit commerciali. Alle tre divisioni storiche si
sono aggiunte: la divisione componenti per sistemi di propulsione con combusti-
bili alternativi (autovetture, autobus, camion e altri mezzi che possono montare
la carburazione a GPL come muletti, tagliaerba, spazzatrici, etc.); la divisione
regolatori metano e misurazione, specializzata nelle tecnologie per la distribu-
zione del metano domestico; vi infine la divisione progettazione e servizi, che
si occupa dellengineering e della produzione di tecnologie e macchinari nel
settore GPL, come ad esempio gli impianti di ricondizionamento delle bombole.
Con questa nuova configurazione Cavagna Group intende essere
ancora pi vicino ad ogni cliente, rispondendo in modo specifico e
mirato alle sue richieste. Le risorse industriali e professionali del Gruppo
si concentrano esattamente sui focus pi opportuni, nel marketing come negli
aspetti commerciali. Obiettivo: aumentare ancora di pi la qualit delle propo-
ste e dei servizi sulla base della specializzazione. Questo, senza rinunciare per
a condividere fra le divisioni lesperienza maturata e i risultati dellimpegno di
R&D.

new sectors have led our organization to expand its structure. One
important contribution to this strategic evolution in our business
units has also come from the Cavagna Groups corporate dynamics,
consisting of takeovers and investments in the world of gas
technology and systems. The end result is a new divisional structure,
which was implemented in October. The Group now consists of six different
business units, one for each field of interest and target group, which are
mutually supportive in terms of know-how and business potential. Besides
the three historical divisions, there is now: the alternative fuel systems
division (cars, buses, lorries and other vehicles which can be fitted out for
LPG fuel, such as forklifts, lawnmowers, sweepers, etc.); the natural gas
regulator and metering division, which specializes in technology for the
distribution of household methane; and lastly the engineering and service
division, which deals with the engineering and production of technology
and equipment in the LPG field, such as gas cylinder reconditioning plants.
Through this new structure, the Cavagna Group aims to be even
closer to each customer, and meet their requests in a specific and
targeted way, since the Groups industrial and professional resources are
precisely focused on the most appropriate marketing and business goals.
The aim is to further increase the quality of the products and services
we offer through specialization, without - however - neglecting to share
experience and R&D results among the divisions.

Cavagna Group and Siraga:

a unique partnership in the world.

Thanks to the partnership agreement between Cavagna Group and

Siraga, now we can optimize our services. In fact, the most comprehensive
worldwide benchmark for the LPG sector was established, by enabling
the management of the whole LPG supply chain, both for domestic and
industrial use, including service stations.
Implications and perspectives of the agreement were presented on
September 30 in London, an ideal venue, considering the event was
held together with the World LP Gas Forum.
The two companies management held a press conference for top
clients, journalists and guests from all over the world. During the
meeting, Davide Cavagna, CEO of Cavagna Group, said: Cavagna

applications, on the other hand, include all
small, medium and large manufacturing plants,
whose gas appliances work at pressures of
above 150 mbar.
The distinctive versatility of the TYPE 46

The regulators can be equipped with devices for
both low and high pressure, according to the
customers specific requirements.
This innovative line is expected to meet with
immediate commercial success on the European

The introduction of the SAP platform offers a
broader view based on production processes

the EAGLE project, SAP architecture (market
leader ERP with more than 250,000 customers)
becomes functional to Cavagna Groups needs
as an extended enterprise, linking internal
to external processes (customers, suppliers,
employees, institutions, banks, etc.). In real
time, the information processing increases,
improving customer service and optimizing
costs.
Because EAGLE projects strategic importance
goes beyond ICT levels, Cavagna Group has
decided to support the Organization and
Processing changes. In terms of application,
with the Realization and Final Preparation
phases, the EAGLE Team Project has accomplished
the configuration system as defined. In
addition, new Technological Infrastructure
activities, using the full potential of Cloud
computing and a high-performance fiber
optic connectivity of 10 Mb are managed
and, at the same time, training activities
are running for new application component
users. Actually, the countdown has already
begun with the purpose of uploading the new
application platform in the Italian Gas Valves
Divisions as of January 7, 2014.
The new architecture extension to the Gas
Regulator Divisions will be followed by the
internationalization project to other Group

strategy as outlined for the coming years.

Con linaugurazione della nostra nuova sede cilena si
aprono importanti prospettive per unespansione ope-

Con questo significativo investimento Cavagna Group
ribadisce la volont concreta di puntare sempre pi

La nostra nuova unit industriale ha sede nella
capitale Santiago e si occupa della produzione
di valvole e regolatori GPL; si sviluppa per una su-
perficie complessiva di 23.800 mt2. Oltre 6.000 sono
adibiti ad unit produttive vere e proprie, organizzate
in tre aree: forgia e magazzino materie prime, lavora-
zione, assemblaggio, meccanica e manutenzione (che
comprende anche un ampio spazio per lo sviluppo di

The inauguration of our new offices in Chile opens
up significant prospects for the Cavagna Group,
allowing it to expand operations in countries that
are showing a strong capacity for economic and
social growth. Chile itself is one of the fastest
developing countries in the world, not just among
South American countries. Through this significant
investment, the Cavagna Group has reasserted
its firm intention to aim increasingly at the
South American area. Our new 23,800 sq.m
industrial unit is located in the capital Santiago and
deals with the manufacture of LPG regulators and
valves. More than 6,000 sq.m of the site consists
of actual production units, divided into three areas:
forging and raw material warehouse; machining,
assembly, engineering and maintenance (including
an ample space for new project development); and
the main warehouse. The offices are spread over
more than 1000 sq.m and include administrative,
commercial and technical offices, a laboratory, and
a large showroom, where Cavagna products and
Greengear appliances are exhibited. Squares, green
spaces (over 4000 sq.m), a canteen and common
areas for employees complete the structure. It is
important to remember and emphasize that
over 5000 sq.m has already been set aside for
future development. This is further proof that the
corporate strategies aim decidedly at enhancing the
Cavagna Groups position in South America and its
share of the Latin American market.

La proposta della cordata bresciana sul tema innovare
i servizi ai cittadini ha superato tutti gli altri concor-
renti per la capacit di unire originalit delle soluzioni
e concreta fattibilit. In pratica, il progetto si basa
sulla possibilit di creare una piattaforma inte-
grata di informazioni da e verso lutenza di ser-
vizi multiutility, impiegando reti in fibra ottica, che
permetta di condividere just in time i dati di consumo
(dal teleriscaldamento ai rifiuti, dallenergia elettrica al
gas). Obiettivo non per solo monitorare i consumi,
ma abituare i cittadini ad un impiego migliore dei ser-
vizi a disposizione, a vantaggio tanto della collettivit,
dellecosostenibilit ambientale e della singola famiglia,
per ridurre anche sensibilmente il costo delle bollette
energetiche. Questi argomenti sono stati al centro an-
nizzata dal Comune di Brescia e dal network di aziende
che hanno elaborato il documento.
Limpulso verso uno scenario sociale (in questo caso la
citt di Brescia) veramente pi smart stato partico- particularly praised by the Ministry of Education

Ricordiamo che il contributo al progetto da parte
di Cavagna Group si rivolto principalmente a
fornire indicazioni e risorse di ricerca sul tema,
dallottimizzazione dei dati informativi riguar-
danti le reti del gas, alla distribuzione, fino al
consumo domestico. Proprio questi sono anche i con-
cetti ai quali ha creduto da sempre Ezio Cavagna, che ha
fortemente promosso la partecipazione al progetto.
Lo staff ingegneristico e tecnico Cavagna Group si
occupato di integrare le basi progettuali con lelabora-
zione di un nuovo sistema di rilevazione delle perdite
nella distribuzione di gas per tutta lutenza (imprese,
uffici, famiglie) e di gateway per lintegrazione della rete
di telelettura di gas e acqua. Inoltre stato proposto
un innovativo contatore di gas per la telegestione, in
accordo con levoluzione normativa del settore, dota-
to di nuova sensoristica, di valvola per tele gestione
da utente e possibili meccanismi di energy harvesting.
Tramite una valvola ausiliaria possibile interrompere
e riattivare i flussi a seguito di comando utente o inte-
grazione con sistema di home automation o evento di
emergenza. La bella notizia della vittoria del concorso
ha dato impulso al desiderio di passare rapidamente
dalla fase strettamente teorica a quella teorico-pratica,
per giungere poi alla prototipazione dei sistemi e ai test
dellutenza. Questo sar possibile grazie anche ai fondi
che giungeranno a seguito del successo ottenuto da
Brescia Smart Living.

The Brescian network project on innovate services
to citizens has overcome all other competitors for
its unique combination of original solutions and
practical feasibility. Effectively, the project is based
on the creation of an integrated information
platform from and to the multi-utility service
users, using fiber-optic networks able to share just in
time consumption data from long-distance heating
to waste, from electricity to gas). The purpose is not
only consumption monitoring, but getting people
accustomed to better use of available services. In
this way there will be benefits for the community,
eco-sustainability and the single family, reducing at
the same time the cost of energy bills significantly.
These were the press conference topics dedicated
to the project itself, organized by the City of Brescia
and the company network that have created the
project. The boost towards a social scenario (in this
case the city of Brescia ) effectively smarter, was
audit assessment, electing the winning project.
Let us remember that Cavagna Groups
contribution to the project was primarily to
provide guidance and research resources on
the topic, from data regarding the gas network
optimization, to distribution and household
consumption. These are precisely the ideas Ezio
Cavagna always believes in, having promoted at the
end of the sentence the participation to the project.
The Cavagna Groups engineering and technical
staff has integrated the planning bases with the
development of a new leak detection system for the
gas network distribution to all customers (enterpries,
offices, families) and a gateway for integration of
gas and water remote reading network.
An innovative gas meter was proposed for remote
control as well, according to the ongoing regulations
of this industry, equipped with new sensors, valve
for remote user management and energy harvesting
mechanisms. Through an auxiliary valve you can stop
and restart the flows as a result of user command
or integration with a home automation system or
emergency.
The good news of the victory gave the boost to our
wish to move quickly from strictly theoretical to a
practical phase, in order to reach the prototyping
system and user testing. This will be possible thanks
to the funds that will come from the success of
Brescia Smart Living .

delle autovetture ad alimentazione GPL
e metano. Unesperienza pilota che serve
da centro di assistenza e formazione per la
nostra rete commerciale nel mondo.

since last October. It is a pilot project serving
as support and training center for our
worldwide sales network.

Il primo centro di conversione ha la sua location nei pressi dellheadquar-
ters Cavagna Group di Ponte San Marco, a sottolineare quanto il mana-
gement crede in questo progetto: creare un centro pilota capace di essere
un vero e proprio punto di riferimento tecnico e formativo per la rete com-
merciale Cavagna Group nel mondo, un modello replicabile anche in altri
scenari territoriali. La struttura pilota, creata con la collaborazione logistica
dellofficina Midi Gomme, si configura come la realt guida per tutte le
officine specializzate in conversione di veicoli a GPL e metano che potreb-
bero sorgere nel mondo, per volont diretta del Gruppo Cavagna o tramite
specifiche collaborazioni operative.
Il progetto Cavagna Group Autogas System Service ha il suo
principale punto di forza nel bagaglio di conoscenze speciali-
stiche maturate dalla nostra consociata Bigas, che ha fornito il
know-how per allestire unofficina organizzata. Il lay-out delloffi-
cina, sempre messa punto con la consulenza dei tecnici Bigas, comprende
ogni aspetto impiantistico e organizzativo, oltre che fornire le soluzioni di
conversione pi adatte ad ogni veicolo. Il progetto prevede di replicare pro-
gressivamente lesperienza presso le sedi Cavagna Group nel mondo.
Ma c di pi: Cavagna Group Autogas System Service si propone,
a livello di marketing, come un vero e proprio brand, con tutte
le caratteristiche per essere adottato come proposta innovativa
e competitiva sul mercato: dallimmagine alla comunicazione.
Anche da questo punto di vista, dovrebbe, infatti, diventare il modello di
riferimento per le officine autorizzate che si conformano alle guide line
dettate dal Gruppo.
Vi infine da considerare il vantaggio diretto che la realizzazione della pri-
ma officina pilota offre ai dipendenti del Gruppo: sono, infatti, gi diverse le
autovetture di dipendenti Cavagna Group convertite a GPL, tramite unof-
ferta di servizio ed economica particolarmente vantaggiosa, considerando
anche il continuativo risparmio nei consumi e quelli di carattere ambientale.

The first Autogas System Service is located near Cavagna Group
headquarters in Ponte San Marco in order to highlight how much the
management trusts this project.
This creates a master service center that can become a true technical
and training benchmark for Cavagna Group worldwide business
network, repeatable in other locations. The structure-type, realized
with the logistic collaboration of the Midi Gomme workshop, is an
example for all LPG and CNG converting vehicles specialized workshops
that might arise in the world, directly on behalf of Cavagna Group or
through specific cooperations.
The Cavagna Group Autogas System Service project got its main
strength in the technical know-how acquired by our subsidiary
Bigas, who provided the expertise to set up an organized
workshop.
The workshop lay-out, arranged by Bigas technicians, includes every
plant engineering and organizational aspect, as well as providing best
conversion solutions for each vehicle. Its the goal of the project to
reproduce, at the end of the sentence, the experience at the Cavagna
Groups premises in the world.
What more, Cavagna Group Autogas System Service intends
to become a marketing brand itself, able to be adopted as an
innovative and competitive market solution; from graphic to
communication. From this point of view, it should become the model
for those licensed workshops that want to comply with the Groups
guide lines.
Finally, there is the direct benefit the Autogas System Service realization
offers to Group employees; actually, many employees cars are LPG
converted, due to a particularly advantageous offer, considering the
ongoing fuel savings and environmental benefits.

di un percorso formativo, nel settembre di questanno

Administration) presso la Grenoble Graduate School of
Business. Dallo scorso settembre entrato a far parte
del team commerciale di Cavagna Group. Dopo una
fase di formazione, assumer lincarico di responsabile
delle linee di prodotti GPL di Cavagna Group nei mercati
dellAmerica latina. Oltre alle mansioni di carattere
tipicamente commerciale, avr il compito di coordinare il lavoro e le
strategie commerciali dei nostri distributori nel territorio Centro/Sud
americano.
