Directions

Students will be creating a graphic organizer using Popplet. You will be split up into groups and
team members will be responsible for one of the groups/people.

They will be exploring the three biggest players involved in the Russian Revolution, one of them
being Lenin, Czar Nicholas II, the Provisional Government, and the Russian people/military.

What did each person/group want?

Minimum of FIVE quotes in total.

Minimum of ONE image per person.

At least ONE video.

How many Russians died during the First World War?

Include as much detail from the beginning of the time when Russians wanted out of the war to
the end when Lenin takes over and declares peace.

Use dates.

Use complete sentences when possible.

A minimum of 25 Popplets.

I will provide you with the corresponding chapters and pages from Martin Gilberts book The
First World War. That is where you will be getting all of your information. You may use YouTube
to get a video regarding the Russian Revolution.

Content Standards 10.5

Explain how the Russian Revolution and the entry of the United States affected the
course and outcome of the war.
Understand the nature of the war and its human costs (military and civilian) on all sides
of the conflict, including how colonial peoples contributed to the war effort.
Within this assignment we will be looking more closely at the Russian revolution and all the
sides involved, but we will not be looking at the U.S. entry into the war or how these events
affected the course of the war.
