Carbon footprint is a measurement of the total emission of greenhouse gases.

City of Manila's contribution

to the world's carbon footprint is minimal compare to the first world countries. As a developing country,
the country needs to adapt to the vast changes of the environment and at the same time progress without
contributing to the destruction of the environment.

"This research project is a case study designed to make a sustainable low-cost residential building that is
affordable and environment friendly."
The objectives of the research as follows:

To define possible approaches to have a self-sustaining residential building through green

engineering.
To establish a project proposal that fits to the condition of the area to have a self-sustaining
residential building through green engineering.
To assess the cost of the project proposal in building/designing the residential building with green
engineering design application.
