Wednesday evenings: First through Sixth
Grades...........Come join us! We’re
having a fun time learning the books of
the Bible. As how you can earn “Bible
Bucks” to shop in the Bible Bucks Store!
August 22nd: Bon Voyage Luau for our
missionary gifts at 5pm. Refreshments to
follow.
August 29th ..Last day to turn in
missionary gifts.
Also, Union Church Singing at 2:00pm.
Bring a brown bag lunch and eat at our
church and then we’ll drive to Union
Church for the singing.

Deacon’s Ministry
Vacations are over, school is in session
and Fall is on its way. We’ve had a great
summer, a wonderful Vacation Bible
School and now we’re looking forward to
another great Church Year. We are
blessed with dedicated workers who give
God the glory for all things done. Please

pray that the Second Baptist Church will
grow and prosper in this coming year.

Sunday School
What’s the best thing you could do to
help someone in the direction of knowing
Christ. Invite them to Sunday School.
Southern Baptist Association studies
show if a person is coming to Sunday
School they are likely to accept Christ
and join the church later. So its easy to
say come to Sunday School with me.
Talk about the discussion of previous
lessons, and how they help in everyday
life. See you in Sunday School and bring
someone.

Children in Action ....aka CIA
We are so excited to be starting
something new on Wedneseday nights!
The CIA is for kids in the first through
the sixth grade. We are learing about
missionaries and the work they do and
also how we can do mission work right
here at home. Our first project is

We have “adopted” a missionary. His Brooke’s Team: Brooke, Greta, Pam S.
name is Marshall Bundren and he is a (249-3910)
missionary in Indiana. He works with Brenda’s Team: Brenda, Paul
men who come in on the cargo ships on (245-7349)
Lake Michigan. We will be collecting
supplies for him to give to these men. A NOTE: If you swap a week with
list is in the vestibule. Then on Sunday, someone let Brooke know in advance.
August 22nd at 5:00 we will have a
Christmas in August Luau. The CIA’s
will be presenting a program complete Musical Notes
with Christmas music and skits. Please Judy Stocks
make plans to join us. There will be
refreshments following the program. Are you coming to our end of the month
Sunday night singings? Well, if you

“Play Ground Project”

We still have those traditional Cook Books

to sell. We are encouraging our members
to “sign out” and sell a number of Cook
Books to help with the fund raising.
Please call Brooke Baird, who has been
elected the Director of the Play Ground
Project, at 249-3910, to help with this
much needed fund raiser.

Business Meetings

Business meetings are held the second

Monday of every month at 6:00 pm.
Please bring a covered dish for supper and
fellowship before the meeting.

craft classes at her shop. We encourage

Neighborhood Watch

The monthly meeting for the Community

Neighborhood Watch is held on the 3rd
Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm in the
Weogufka School Lunchroom. All area
residents are invited to attend. Just bring a
covered dish for supper.
