Places : Bangka street, no 10, Minggu Market

Owner : Mr. Zar and now his son Mr. Man

1. Background and history of business establishment

a. The owner's background

Mr. Zar has 4 childs, the first child is Mr. Man, Mr. Man is now continuing the furniture
business because Mr. Zar has rested and he is not active anymore.

b. The initial ideals of business establishment

Started in 1997, Mr. Zar had planned to open the furniture business, not just for fun
anyway. With a little expertise he ventured to buy some wood for the cabinet, he
pioneered the business from home, not rent his own shop, the capital he spent at that
time was Rp 300.000, - after that he sold it at Rp 500.000, -. With so much profit he can
support his wife and children, the rest of the money he tube for preparation if there are
consumers who order the cabinet again

2. building a business

a. What is needed

After I interviewed him I can summarize the main things that must be prepared to build
the business

- Expertise
Not just the expertise to make cabinets, but the expertise to manage finances

- Capital

free because it is limited to capital. He said capital is very important role in opening a
business, not just a strong determination

b. Challenges and difficulties encountered

He said the biggest challenge is when there is no buyer, once a full month there is no
consumer who order a closet or buy a ready-made cabinet. He always said in addition
to capital the most important thing is the expertise to manage the money used, so that
next month can still eat. Therefore, every one of us finishes 1 cabinet made, profit from
the sale he made another cabinet, so he can collect his profit, in 2000 he already has
his own shop and has 3 employees.

- Speech skills, in order to convince customers.

Now Mr. Zar and Mr. Man already has 2 stores located in Anggut. Mr. Zar is no longer

4. What Matters are Concerned to Maintain the business

- honesty

If you've made an appointment with the customer to pick up an order item, then we have
to keep it on time, so they are not disappointed and want to buy the closet again next
time.

- Expertise

Not just the expertise of cabinets, but the skill of managing finances, the skill is very
important to build a business to keep it on track

- Cold Capital

This means that capital is always there, so when there are consumers who want to
order the closet with the best quality, he can use the cold capital.

5. Conclusion

To build any business is not important how much intention and determination, if there is
no sufficient capital everything will not run smoothly. Capital and expertise are
indispensable for building a business.
