Chapter 05 TIME LIMITS/MAINTENANCE CHECKS

This chapter includes the following sections:

SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE CHECKS
A. Task numbering
This section gives the accomplishment instructions for zonal
inspection
tasks
- related to the requirements of the Maintenance Planning
Document (MPD)
a specific AMTOSS zonal task number which combines the ATA 05-20
and
the concerned A/C zone is used as follows :
Task Numbering System for Zonal Inspection Tasks.
ATA Reference Number
I________________I
TASK N 0 5 - 2 2 - 6 0 - 2 0 0 - 0 0 1
I__I I I______I I_____I I_____I
1 2 3 4 5
1 : ATA
2 : Relates to ATA section 20
scheduled maintenance checks
3 : Zone
4 : Function code, E.G. 200 : INSPECTION CHECK
5 : Unique identification of discrete tasks
B. Procedure content
(1) It is thought that people which perform the zonal tasks have an
adequate knowledge of the aircraft construction and systems
installations thus a list of all the items contained in the zones to
be inspected is not given.
(2) If you find damage, corrosion, leaks, it is recommended to refer
to
the related structure/system inspection ata-chapter for detailed
inspection and corrective action
(3) Any Fairing, access panel, access door, etc removed or opened
to gain
access to zones should also be examined during the zonal
inspection.
This requirement is not specially quoted within each individual
procedure because it is a standard maintenance practice.
UNSCHEDULED MAINTENANCE CHECKS
This section gives information related to the unsheduled
maintenance checks:
- inspection/checks after the aircraft has gone through special or
abnormal conditions
- pressurization test of fuselage (leakage checks) after A/C abnormal
operation or repair
- demagnetization of the external parts of the frames of the
windshield and sliding windows
- levelling and measurement after aircraft abnormal operation
- aircraft stability
- requirements of non-revenue flight following maintenance actions

Chapter 08 LEVELING & WEIGHING

This chapter covers the following operations:
- WEIGHING AND BALANCING
This procedure gives data to find the operating empty weight of the
aircraft and to calculate the center of gravity.
NOTE : You can do this operation with the shock absorbers and the
tires
deflated.
NOTE : To get accurate results, we recommend to weigh the aircraft
on a
level area in a hangar with:
- the hangar doors and windows closed.
- the hangar heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems
stopped.
Wind and air flows prevent accurate results.
- LEVELING
This section provides information related to the leveling of the
aircraft.
It is divided as follows:
- QUICK LEVELING
- PRECISE LEVELING

Chapter 10 PARKING/MOORING,
This chapter covers:
- Parking
This task gives the procedures for:
- parking the aircraft in flight-ready condition
- ground checks during parking
- return to operation after parking
- renewal parking procedures
- Mooring
The purpose of mooring is to prevent damage to the aircraft on the
ground in high wind conditions.
For wind speeds less than 50 Kts:
- mooring is not necessary if the aircraft configuration is in the limits
given in chapter 05-57-00.
If the aircraft points into the wind and wind speed is:
- between 50 and 70 Kts, moor the aircraft at the NLG,
- more than 70 Kts, moor the aircraft at the NLG and MLG.
If the aircraft does not point into the wind or the direction of the
wind
is not stable:
- for wind speeds or gusts more than 50 Kts, moor the aircraft at the
NLG
and the MLG.

Chapter 11 PLACARDS AND MARKINGS

This document gives the location and pictorial illustration of the
placards, stencils and markings on the aircraft.
This chapter is divided as follows:
- placards and markings on the external side of the aircraft
- placards and markings on the internal side of the aircraft

Chapter 12
This chapter provides the instructions related to the replenishing
and
scheduled and unscheduled servicing operations applicable to the
aircraft.
It is broken down as follows:
- REPLENISHING
This section provides all data for accomplishment of replenishing
operations.
It is divided as follows:
- FUEL SYSTEM
- HYDRAULIC FLUIDS

- OIL
- GAS
- WATER
- TOILET SANITARY FLUID
- RAIN REPELLENT
- SCHEDULED SERVICING
This section provides instructions related to the servicing
operations, for which a frequency is specified.
The different operations are classified as follows:
- CLEANING
- LUBRICATION
- DRAINAGE
- USE OF MANUAL (MAGNETIC) FUEL QUANTITY INDICATORS
- UNSCHEDULED SERVICING
This section provides instructions related to the servicing operations
for which no frequency is specified. It is divided as follows:
- AIRCRAFT PROTECTION
- SAMPLING FOR ANALYSIS
- PRE-CONDITIONING
- SYSTEM LINE FLUSHING
