1. This assignment contains FOUR (4) questions that is set in both Malay and English. / Tugasan ini
mengandungi EMPAT (4) soalan yang disediakan dalam bahasa Melayu dan bahasa Inggeris.

2. Answer in Malay or English. / Jawab dalam bahasa Melayu atau bahasa Inggeris.

3. Learners are to submit assignment only in MS-WORD format unless specified otherwise. Please refrain
from converting text/phrases into picture format such as .gif / .jpeg / print screen / etc. / Anda dikehendaki
menyerahkan tugasan dalam format MS-WORD melainkan dinyatakan sebaliknya. Anda tidak dibenarkan
untuk menukar teks/frasa tugasan tersebut kepada format grafik seperti .jpeg / .gif / print screen / dan
lain-lain format berkaitan.

4. Download the language version of the assignment template concerned from the myINSPIRE for
preparation and submission of your assignment. Your assignment should be typed using 12 point Times
New Roman font and 1.5 line spacing. / Muat turunkan templat tugasan versi bahasa yang berkenaan
daripada myINSPIRE untuk penyediaan dan penyerahan tugasan anda. Tugasan anda hendaklah ditaip
dengan menggunakan saiz fon 12 Times New Roman dan langkau baris 1.5.

5. Your assignment should be between 2500 to 3000 words excluding references. Do not copy the
assignment question and instructions to your answer. Only assignment answer developed within the
approximate word limit will be assessed. The number of words should be shown at the end of your
assignment. / Tugasan anda hendaklah mengandungi 2500 hingga 3000 patah perkataan tidak termasuk
rujukan. Bilangan perkataan hendaklah ditunjukkan di hujung tugasan anda. Jangan menyalin soalan
dan arahan tugasan dalam jawapan anda. Pemeriksa tidak akan membaca jawapan tugasan yang
melebihi had patah perkataan yang dibenarkan. Jumlah perkataan hendaklah dinyatakan di penghujung
tugasan anda.

the procedures to submit your assignment online. You are advised to keep a copy of your submitted

8. Your assignment must be submitted between 21st 27th November 2016. Submission after 27th

submission. Your assignment is considered as NOT submitted if you fail to produce the submission receipt
in any dispute arises concerning assignment submission. / Anda perlu memastikan RESIT yang
dikeluarkan bagi penghantaran tugasan disimpan sebagai bukti penghantaran. Kegagalan
mengemukakan resit dalam sebarang isu yang timbul berkaitan penghantaran tugasan akan

ASSIGNMENT QUESTION

PURPOSE
The purpose of this task is to assess your ability to:
search for information;
make notes from the reading material;
acknowledge other authors work, and
demonstrate logical arguments/discussions with supporting facts and evidences.

ACTIVITY 1 (30%)

Teaching students how to recognise, find and gather relevant information is an essential part
of a course. These study skills help students achieve their goals, not only while in
school/college or university, but also in their daily lives.

In 300-350 words, discuss relevant reasons to support your stand.

ACTIVITY 2 (30%)

Irrespective of your aim of furthering your studies, whether for pleasure, career advancement,
gaining a qualification or acquiring knowledge and skills, information comprehension and
processing skills taught as part of your study skills course offer good opportunity for self-
advancement.

In an essay of 300-350 word, elaborate how the information comprehension and processing
skills assist in your studies. Support your answer with relevant examples.

ACTIVITY 3 (30%)

Read an essay on Sustainable energy (refer to Attachment 1 of the assignment question).


Based on the essay prepare:
(a) Notes and
(b) A mind map (using a mind mapping program)

*Note:
a) For this activity you are required to prepare your notes and a mind map using a mind
mapping program and submit them via online. There are plenty of freeware, shareware and
paid mind mapping programs available online for all operating systems. You can find them
using Google.

b) Most mind mapping programs, have a note-taking window that allows you to create mind
maps and add notes to the notes of the mind maps. The mind maps and notes can then be
exported as text files (adt, docx and others depending on the program) and/or graphic files
(jpg, png and others).

Tujuan tugasan ini adalah untuk menilai keupayaan anda dalam :

mengemukakan hujah-hujah logikal/ perbincangan dengan sokongan fakta dan
