CREED

I have a chance to go through Medicine life,

and I shall have God be the center of it:

I will give away whatever the best I have to offer,

But keep the worst to myself;

Not all my days in Medicine will bring me sunshine,

But I will rejoice also even the darkest days for it will teach me important lessons;

Not in every endeavor I will be a successful,

But if ever I will be I will savor my victories with other people;

I will not carry the past wrong against me,

But remain lighhearted and forgiving;

I will love those whom I can,

And I will strive to understand them more;

I will never lose sight of hope and faith,

And let them be my guiding light through out the journey;

I will only do what I have to do,

And God will take care of the rest.

MAKING ROUNDS MEDICAL EDUCATION FILM

In the documentary film, the doctors priority was the patients welfare. Welfare, not only
physically but as well as emotionally and mentally. They face their patients as whole and not
only as a person who has a disease or illness.

Another thing that I have obsereved is that the physicians talk to their patients and let
them express how they feel or what they are feeling right at that moment. It is good to let the
patients practice expressing themselves so as in the future they will not be ashamed of doing it.
This would also aid the physicians in or during the assessment of the patients condition, for
example, the level of consciousness.

The second aspect that I have obsereved is that through touch by way of physical
assessment (palpations) the patients would feel that they are well taken cared of. Also through
this, they would sense that their physicians are concerened of their welfare and that they
would not feel that they are abandoned.

All these are means of communicating to the pateints. This will lower the barrier
between the health care givers and the patients so as to avoid miscommunication.
Miscommunication would lead to misunderstandings and wrong treatment of the patients. This
would result to further injury to the patient and the medical team would lose the trust of the
primary patient but also other people.

Communication is an important aspect in our everday lives and not only limited in the
four walls of the hospital. Wherever we go we need to talk to other people, we need each
others help in order to survive the day to day journey of our lives. As they say, NO MAN IS AN
ISLAND, we already have to accept that God made other people so that they can touch our
lives by teaching us the lessons we have to learn and we can in turn take part in their journey.
