Fusible Charge Panel
A fusible panel is part of Emer-
gency system in an industrial plant
to monitor and control Fire.
A fusible panel is a pneumatic
panel that remains charged at
generally around 45 psig .The air
to this panel is fed by Instrument
air panel dropped to required
pressure.
TYPICAL DELUGE VALVE
A fusible panel is integrated to vari-
ous fusible plugs mounted in the
field by tubing to form a closed sys-
tem. These fusible plugs sense the
rise in temperature above set point
and melt, thus releasing the holding
pressure. This resulting pressure drop
which sends
trip command
to control
room. On re-
ceiving this ,
alarm Emergency shut down is acti-
vated manually or automatically.
A fusible panel can be manually or
automatically activated to operate
the deluge/foam fire suppression system
and to remove the air supply from
the Shut Down Panel.
