Scholarships

Surrey United:
Surrey United Soccer Club annually awards four $500 scholarships to both boys and girls. In order to be considered for
a scholarship, applicants must meet the stated criteria and submit all parts of the requested documents. Criteria:

Minimum of six years playing with a SUSC team

Desire to attend a post-secondary institution

Must be a Surrey resident Documents to be submitted:

2. Two reference letters: One from a secondary school staff member and one from a SUSC coach or staff member;
alternatively, one may be written by an employer or community member
3. One page essay (minimum 250 words) describing your educational goals, academic successes, volunteer activities and
most importantly the impact that your time and experience with SUSC has had and will continue to have in your life.
4. The above documents must be stapled together in the above order and placed in an

I think I could get this scholarship because I have played with surrey for almost ten years
now. I am a very dedicated player and I am also active in my community. I have done
the coast capital reading buddies program for two years now. Also, around Christmas,
my team goes to the Christmas Bureau and the food bank. I would also talk about how
the time I have spent playing soccer has taught me many things such as teamwork,
perseverance, and determination.
McDonalds:
The McDonald's National Employee Scholarship Program is open to all current McDonald's hourly
employees who work at least 15 hours per week and who have worked for a minimum of four months at
McDonald's. Up to 51$1,000 scholarships will be awarded to student employees and a $5,000"McScholar of
the Year" award will be given to the employee who demonstrates the highest commitment to school, work and
volunteer activities. You must be a high school senior, college student or returning student attending or
planning to attend an accredited college, university or vocational/technical school to qualify for
this award.

I believe that I could get this scholarship because I work I have worked there for a
year now, I work 15 - 20 hours a week and I am a crew trainer. a crew trainer
means I have more authority, train new employees and I am qualified to evaluate
 other workers on their performance. I work while keeping a 4.0 GPA. I also do a
lot of volunteer work with my soccer team and on my own. I was also part of a
leadership group. I think I have a better shot at one of the 1,000 ones than the
5,000.

Canadian woman in municipal government:

The scholarship is open to women students enrolled in any year of study in secondary school and who
are contributing to their schools leadership team or student council.

Qualifications

The scholarship is open only to young women students who are enrolled in a Canadian secondary
school.

The student can be in any year of study in secondary school.

Applicants should be students who are making a contribution to their school's leadership teams or
studentcouncils.
Submissions
Your submission must include the following elements.

In a cover letter, please answer the following questions:

Tell us how you have been involved in school activities related to student council or leadership

What is the value and/or benefits to society of having women in politics? (350 words)3.

According to you, how can we increase women's participation in local government? (350 words)

References
Two written references are required:

One (1) from a personal friend or relative, and

One (1) from a school instructor.

(Facultative) We also encourage you to submit a summary of your application in a 2-min video

I think I have a shot at this scholarship because I was in a leadership group and I am now in
student counsel.

BC SOCCER SCHOLARSHIPS:
$1000 Scholarships shall be awarded by BC Soccer to any successful applicant who, for three or
more years, has played with a team affiliated with BC Soccer and who is currently participating in
some capacity in soccer; this may be as a player, referee, coach or administrator.

NOVUS BIOLOGICALS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM:

$1500 The Novus Biologicals Scholarship Program is awarded to students pursuing a degree in a science

I would like to pursue a degree in science. Im interested in biology and physics and I
could see myself getting an education related to science.

$1000 Encourages students in Grade 12 to enter an essay based on their interest and passion for a
selected subject. The six subjects are leadership, sports, technology and trades, performing arts, fine
