SMART SHIFT
Tamper and Theft monitoring System

Introduction:
It is often required to receive notification when a thief / vandal tries to steal or
damage sensitive equipment. The Smart Shift performs this function by measuring
vibration, and allowing communication and GPS coordinates via a GSM (Cell phone)
signal.

Should an item then be attacked, an early warning signal is obtained. If the unit is
attached to the sensitive equipment and it is moved, the position can be tracked for
recovery.

All information is provided via a web service. Alarms can be obtained via SMS or
emails.

The unit further features audio feedback, so that when an alarm is triggered, the user
can phone in, and listen to what is happening at the unit. This is useful to eliminate
false alarms.

The battery will last a minimum of 2 years, up to a maximum of five years, depending
on usage.

Size: Diameter 50mm x 40mm long tube. Can be mounted in various manners.

Unit purchase price: R4830 (excl VAT) once off.
Monthly web access service: R130 (excl VAT) per month.
Data usage: For users own account. R15 per month airtime whould be more
than sufficient.

Three axis accelerometer sensitivity remotely configurable to suit the
specific installation including any tilt action.
Geo-Fence detection warning when device enters or leaves a specified

Positive Audio Verification of Intrusion

Pre-determined and configurable numbers will activate auto answer function
of the device.
This function can be used to eliminate false alarms due to natural sounds
generated at a site like unnaturally high wind and other natural phenomenas
that might trigger the accelerometer alarm function.
Intrusion sounds like metal on metal, hack saw, grinder sounds and the like
will be transmitted mechanically through the structure and is easily identified
by the auto answered phone call.

Low GSM costs

Smart Shift uses UDP Data for communications. The cost of GPRS data is a
fraction of the costs of an SMS message.
This function allows the system to continuously send health checks to ensure
100% status and maintenance reliability.
A cost for GSM airtime of R 15 per month including all warnings, tracking and
health statuses is achievable depending on the application.
The GSM GPRS data channel is the first to become active and the last to
disconnect on any GSM communications system and is the most reliable for
security communications.

Reports and database

All historical data is hosted on a cloud server with MTN ISP and is backed
up live all historical and live data is available immediately through the
customer interface or automatic reporting facility.

transmissions and email notifications.

Housing Environmental Data

The Marley enclosure is an uPVC pipe solution, being white in color, and
offers corrosion resistance. The system is tough and offers superb resistance
to impact with an excellent audio conductivity. As a result, breakages and
other enclosure failures are minimal. The system is UV stabilized to prevent
weathering and oxidation in Southern Africas harsh climate. Completed
installations are neat in appearance and will provide many years of service-
free use under normal operating conditions.
