Design Director

Drive and direct the design and user experience of all interactions
between Sling Media products and user/customers. Sling Media is a
startup located in the Bay Area, which through their Slingbox product
created the “placeshifting” category.

Responsibilities include:
→ Direct all design efforts within the company
→ Create UI and User Experience strategies across multiple clients
(mobile, PC, Mac, Web) and touchpoints (packaging,
documentation)

Responsible for leading the product design efforts and managing the
User Experience and Design (UED) team for Yahoo! Personals, a
division of Yahoo! Communications and Consumers Services. Yahoo!
Personals is the second largest online dating service in the category
and has the highest revenue of any premium service at Yahoo!. The
UED team consists of Interaction Designers, Visual Designers, User
Experience Researchers and Web Developers.

Accomplishments include:
→ Creation of user experience strategy including network integration,
competitive analysis, product usability and overall brand/user
experience quality
→ Management of multiple projects including development and
maintenance of core product as well as releases of product
differentiators
→ Key stakeholder in market and product requirements process
→ Development of key UED metrics and measurement processes to

Led a team of user interface designers, information architects, usability


analysts, and developers for a global product design and development
firm. The Fitch Interaction Design studio defined, designed, executed
and tested user interfaces for hardware and software. Job
responsibilities included the management of all operational aspects
(including P&L responsibilities) of the studio as well as business
development.
