Itinerary
Introduction
Journey through Egypt and Jordan that encompasses some of the most astounding sites from the old
world. On this one of the amazing Egypt and Jordan tours of Travel Talk, you will discover two of the 7
Natural Wonders of the world and one of the oldest cultures in history. Marvel at the diversity the
landscapes have to offer when you visit both countries then take some time to relax in the cool waters
of Dahab.

Day 1: Cairo
Welcome to Egypt! At the Cairo terminal keep your eyes open for the Travel Talk sign, we
pick you up from the airport and take you to your hotel. Gather round in the hotel lobby at
6:00pm as we meet both the other tour members and the guide for an informal meeting.
After the meeting you have free time to start exploring Cairo. Included Activities; Welcome

Day 2: Cairo City Tour, Luxor

After breakfast we visit the Giza Plateau to explore the world famous pyramids of Cheops,
Chephren and Mycrenos. The afternoon is left to sightseeing in Sakkara; the first capital
of ancient Egypt, famous for its step pyramid, built by King Zoser in 2700 B.C. Later in the
afternoon we board our bus to Luxor. In the evening well check into our Premium hotel by
the River of Nile... Included Activities; Sightseeing Pyramids & Sakkara Optional Activities
; No Meals ; Breakfast, Dinner

Day 3: Luxor, Aswan

After our breakfast, we depart for the West Bank of the Nile where our donkey awaits to
take us into the Valley of the Kings. Next is our discovery of the magnificent city of the
Dead where tombs were carved into the desert rocks, decorated richly, and filled with
treasures for the Pharaoh afterlife. Rising out of the desert plain in a series of terraces,
the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut is our next stop. Then we drive to Aswan for overnight
stay. Included Activities; Sightseeing Luxor & Valley of The Kings & Donkey Ride Optional

Day 4: Aswan
Today, after breakfast we explore Aswan, the smallest of the three major tourist cities

based on the Nile, famous for the amazing Philea Temple and High Dam, an engineering
miracle when it was built in the 1960s. After visiting the High Dam we head to Philea
Temple and take a short motorboat ride to reach the island. Dedicated to the goddess
Isis, Philae Temple has a beautiful setting on an island in the River of Nile. Its various
shrines and sanctuaries celebrate the deities involved in the myth of Isis and Osiris. Early
in the morning you can join the optional trip to Abu Simbel, one of the most impressive
ancient sights of Egypt. Overnight stay in Aswan. Included Activities; Sightseeing Aswan
& Philea Temple & High Dam Optional Activities ; Abu Simbel Meals ; Breakfast, Lunch,

Day 5: Daily Felucca cruise on the Nile

Today we get back to basics and jump onboard a Felucca sail boat, bound for the
Elephantine and Kitchener Islands on the River Nile. After our river excursion, the rest of
the day is yours free to wander around Aswan as you wish. Included Activities; Sailing on

Day 6: Edfu, Komombo, Luxor

After breakfast, on our way to Luxor where we will spend the night, we head to Edfu to
visit the largest and best preserved temple in Egypt. The temple is dedicated to the falcon
god Horus and was built over a 180-year period from 237 BC to 57 BC. Then we continue
to visit Komombo Temple which was built during the Ptolemaic and Roman periods. The
temple is dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and god Horus. Included Activities;
Sightseeing Edfu & Komombo Optional Activities ; No Meals ; Breakfast

Day 7: Luxor, Cairo

Today, it has much to offer the traveller, from vast temples, to ancient royal tombs, via
spectacular desert and river scenery. we visit the temple of Luxor on the East Bank of the
Nile which was dedicated to the great god Amun, his wife Mut and their son Khonsu (the
mood god), representing the Theban triad. The temple was built on the site of a probably
smaller structure for the god Amun, while the earliest parts of the temple seen today date
from the 14th century BC and the time of Amenhotep III. In the afternoon we proceed to
the Temple of Karnak, one of the most important religious centers of ancient Egypt. In the
afternoon we drive to Cairo for overnight stay. Included Activities; Sightseeing Karnak

Day 8: Cairo City Tour

Our journey continues with a visit to one of the most important museums in the ancient
world, the Egyptian Museum, that houses more than 100,000 relics of Egypt. Today we
discover the Citadel of Saladin, Mosque of Mohamed Ali, the Hanging Church and the
world famous Kahn El Khalili bazaar. Included Activities; Sightseeing Cairo & Citadel of
Saladin & Mosque of Mohammed Ali & Hanging Church & Khan El Khalili Bazaar Optional

Day 9: Cairo to Dahab via Sudr & Sharm El Sheikh Road

Day 10: Dahab

Day 11: Dahab, Taba, Aqaba, Wadi Rum

We depart for Nuweiba or Taba to crossing to Aqaba, Jordans window to the sea. After
checking into our desert camp in Wadi Rum, we join a 2 hour Jeep safari in the desert.
This evening we also enjoy an authentic Jordanian dinner in Wadi Rum. After chilling out
by the desert fire and sharing experiences with our travel mates under a starry sky, we
spend the night in our desert camp. Included Activities; Sightseeing Wadi Rum, Jeep

Day 12: Wadi Rum, Petra

After breakfast we depart for a full day tour in the Red Rose City Petra. We embark on an
unforgettable trip on horse back and then by foot til we reach the Treasury. Our local
guide will provide us with a brief history of the city, which is one of the greatest attractions
in the Middle East. We also visit the Pharaoh's Castle, the Triumphal arch and the
Amphitheater. We remain in Petra overnight. Included Activities; Sightseeing Petra

Day 13: Petra, Dead Sea, Kerak, Amman

Today we first drive to the lowest point on earth, Dead Sea for the spectacular floating on
the salty water, then Kerak to visit the impressive Kerak Castle, which was built in the
12th century. Later, we continue to Amman where we stay overnight. Included Activities;

Day 14: Amman City tour

Sam was unbelievable!! He's well informative, knowledgeable in every
aspect (even though we tried to stump him), but he has answer for
everything! But what's great about Sam is that he goes above and
beyond as a tour guide, he's like a best friend trying to show you a
good time. I definitely got a kick out of his quirky jokes, not
understanding what I'm saying, and for me personally, he went out of
his way to ask another member of Travel Talk to go to the mall to get
me my Starbucks mug. I heart Sam! Sam was precise, accurate,
accountable, and responsible for his tour group; gave us all the info we
needed for the next day, all histories and facts about where we're going
prior to arrival, so we have a sense of what we're looking at, and he's
super punctual! So don't be late on his bus, he will leave you! Couldn't
ask for a better tour guide, better yet, I was lucky to be in his group.

My Egyptian trip exceeded expectations. I saw and experienced far
more than I would have if I had done the trip alone. Our Guide Sameh
was so knowledgable, passionate, friendly and very helpful.
Accomodation was lovely and comfortable. Although a lot of late nights
and early starts meant very little sleep majority of the trip. Also the very
long bus rides can be a bit tedious. But all the extra sight-seeing and
activities makes it all worth it. Would highly recommend this trip to
anyone planning to visit Egypt
