Sample exam paper.

You are to complete an answer ONE of the following essay questions relating to the

Industrialisation of European society which was studied in the topic the world beginning at

the twentieth century.

Question One:

Using TWO sources from the source booklet and prior knowledge assess the extent and

impact of the Industrialisation period on the British Empire. What were the economic and

international global influences on the British Empire? In your opinion do you believe

Industrialisation helped create the British Empire into the superpower of the period? (30

Marks)

Question TWO:

Using TWO sources from the source booklet and prior knowledge analyse the effect of the

industrial revolution on the modern world with particular reference to distribution of

resources nationally and internationally? (30 Marks).

Question Three:

Using TWO sources from the source booklet and prior knowledge compare and contrast the

two industrial superpowers Britain and Germany, to what extend does their industrial strength

allow them to influence political, economic and social aspects that led on the success of

imperial expansion globally. In your opinion, do you think the two superpowers would have

been superseded by newly emerging industrial powers within the global community? (30

Marks).

Teachers notes on executing the examination
- Classroom is to be set up for formal exam conditions desks are to be separated from

each other in order to make sure that students cannot cheat or collude with each other

during the exam

- The examination papers and source papers are to be already on desks prior to students

entering the classroom. Examination papers and source papers should be faced down

prior to the commencement of the exam.

- Prior to entering the exam room students are asked to line up outside in order to be

individually marked off the roll prior to the commencement of the exam- students are

instructed in the notification to arrive to class 10 mins before in order to be marked

off individually. During this students will be asked to switch off their mobile phones

and place them on the corner of their desks.

- After students have taken their seats students will give given 5 mins of reading and

planning time and 55 mins of writing time.

- Students are to be instructed of booking their names on all booklets on the table and to

indicate which question and sources used on their response paper.

- Students are to be given a warning when there is 5 mins left of the examination and

are to be instructed when the examination writing time has ended.

- At the end of the examination the teacher is to collect all response papers, question

and source papers and put in the provided manila folder to be marked, the teacher who

collects examination papers are to sign and date the instruction paper attached to the

manila folder.
